Clean and tidy. Website descriptors were accurate. Location made it easy to walk around Linlithgow. Owner was very quick to respond to inquiries. The inclusion of a washer/dryer was incredibly helpful and was the reason I selected this site over others.

Very convenient and comfortable stay before and after heading off to the Highlands. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, including of a rambunctious toddler in our group. The breakfast was fantastic--more than enough food and extremely tasty! We also enjoyed the convenience of being able to get dinner in the restaurant, and that there's a playground and the nearby lake and castle in walking distance.

Quiet ,out in the country. But yet 20 minutes from Edinburgh, kind of a good starting point to go visit anywhere in Scotland. Email the host got the information to get in. There was a book there to explaining how everything worked. No complaints.

The property is actually a cafe with rooms on the second floor. The rooms were very spacious and had a king sized bed and two single beds. The toilet was also very big equipped with a large shower. Very comfortable room with just nice heating that was turned on throughout the day. We did not have breakfast there but the latte was very delicious and was purchased using a £5 voucher that was placed in the room by the kind staff. The location is superb as you can see the ocean from the window.

Linlithgow is charming and quiet little town with beautiful Palace that overlooks Linlithgow Loch. There is a Trail around Loch. Situated between Edinburgh and Falkirk, Linlithgow is a perfect place to stay if you want to avoid crowds and hustle, yet close enough for visiting both towns.

It is an historical town with an old palace you can go round and climb stairs in, and an adjacent big impressive church. Quite a lot going on there, we happened on an evening performance of the Messiah in the church which was packed, You can walk round the loch or, with a car, drive to Beecraigs or Muiravonside Country Parks. Quite good town shops and lots of eating places and pubs. Also a museum and the Burgh Halls are now a public space.

Lovely town, we were exploring the surrounding areas so didn’t spend much time in Linlithgow. It was great to get the train to Edinburgh, really quick and regular trains. We also visited Blackness Castle and Cramond Beach. Loved it all!

Lovely weather, so walked round the loch (lake) to Linlithgow Peel (Park). Visited the Palace, - birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots, Church & Museum, wonderful. Sampled great coffees, homemade lunches & baking in the several small independent cafes. Took train to Edinburgh and Glasgow, and car to Stirling. So easy and practical.

Quiet town, only 2 restaurants available for dinner.

Quiet town, only 2 restaurants available for dinner. Not much to do except for the Linlithgow Palace, which was a must-see location. This town is perfect for a short visit, or if you want to take a book and sit by the loch for an afternoon of relaxation. The hotel was less than a half mile walk from the train station, so the location was very convenient for a short visit from Edinburgh, where we spent most of our vacation. The palace is technically a ruin, but you can climb inside the towers and see all the rooms, guided by a free audio app on your cellphone. This town has manicured garden beds and lots of flowers - very historic and charming.

Certainly peaceful. Well out of Linlithgow but handy for shopping and eating out there if you have transport. Plenty of outdoor seating. Almost everything thought of and provuded - a few provisions, fridge, good sized shower, games, outdoor cushions. Great communication by message. Hob instructions available. Near Muiravonside Farm and Country Park, the Union Canal and the River Avon and even the remains of a ruined nunnery just visible from over the river if you want a challenge.

Excellent, very quiet location for exploring the region - from Edinburgh to Stirling all within easy reach.. Hosts very welcoming and add 'extras' in the kitchen. Very large lounge, bedroom has double bed and 2 singles. Make sure you read instructions to get here, it's well worth it. If visiting Edinburgh it is easy to park car in Linlithgow or Polmont and catch the train.

This was our 3rd or 4th stay here and we love it! Linlithgow itself is a lovely town but only being a 20min train ride to Edinburgh Waverly was our main reason for our visit, especially with Edinburgh's ridiculously high accomodation prices.
