Idyllic spot for a Spring breakaway. The wigwam was cosy and well equipped. We could take our pet and enjoy a campfire, which was a big plus! Really enjoyed exploring nearby Elie beach, enjoying Janettas' ice cream at Pittenweem harbour, and having the tastiest fish and chips in Anstruther.

This is an absolutely lovely guest house. I had a very comfortable bed and excellent porridge for breakfast (there were more solid breakfast options, I just love oatmeal and this one was very decent). The cafe, beach, bus station and railway station are all within a short walk.

Lower Largo doesn't change much over the many years I've been coming here on holiday. We had an excellent meal in the Crusoe, enjoyed pints in the Railway and found the few things we needed in the local shop. The coastal path is always a joy to walk on as are the smaller walks around Largo.

I loved everything about Creel Cottage, it's central location, it's very well equipped and extremely clean. Didn't like the lack of parking though, even struggled on the main car park above the cottage. One of our party couldn't 'do' the steep hill up to and down from the car park.

Lower Largo was a fantastic place to stay and a great base for exploring the St Andrews and East Neuk area. The village itself is small, quiet, and right on the water, with beautiful views and a very relaxed, local feel. Everyone we met was incredibly friendly, which added a lot to the experience. There are a few great spots within walking distance, including a café, pub, and restaurant, as well as a small market, which made it convenient for basics and casual meals. That said, options are somewhat limited, especially earlier in the day or at the start of the week, so having a car is helpful if you want more variety or earlier breakfasts. Overall, it’s an ideal spot if you’re looking for a peaceful coastal setting with easy access to golf and nearby towns like St Andrews, Anstruther, and Crail.

The untouristy and ‘local’ feel of the village.

The untouristy and ‘local’ feel of the village. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. All of these East Neuk villages are close together meaning that you don’t have to travel far for a taste of the whole coast.

I love the people - so friendly. We had a couple of meals in the Crusoe Hotel - one in the restaurant and one in the bar - both delicious. Had a drink in the Railway Inn which had a great atmosphere. Good local shop

Small and quiet, easy beach access but water quality has been rated as unsuitable for bathing. Lots of wildlife to watch - we saw gannets diving, cormorants, a seal sunbathing, swans, ducks, herons. Two pubs/hotels serving food all day and one village shop within yards of each other. Large car park at north end of the village.Lots of footpaths to explore and interesting buildings in the village.A short drive up the coast is a large farm shop and fishmonger. Some of the roads are single track and one way, so need to be careful in the older part of the village.
