What Guests Said About Monkwearmouth:

Scored out of 10, guest rating 2.0

Avoid.

Avoid. A family room with sea view not fit for a family there was vomit on the carpet and walls. Attachments left on the wall where something had been removed. Not safe for a family with 2 small children. The manager was argumentative and thought it was funny when discussing the matter on the phone. Not professional.

The people were lovely and friendly.

The people were lovely and friendly. But, this is not and upmarket place to stay. It was full of drunks and druggies (even the taxi driver and the electrician said this) It was just like some of the worst council estates we have here in the UK. I didn't go out at night with the dog because of this. There were quite a few pit bulls around, including the one upstairs. The property itself was ok and comfortable, but left a lot to be desired. The cutlery drawer was at ground level, there were slugs on the worktop every other morning and the fridge was awkward to open - you had to shut the kitchen door to get into it! But the owner was helpful and friendly.
