Room was small but very cost and warm. The only point is that the motorway is nearby, so you can hear the cars moving (in case of windows overlooking the seashore). But it is not a problem at all with the window closed. Rooms were cleaned every day, altogether with tea and coffee resupply. Good wi-fi and a small desk to work. And the most important, the seashore within the reach of your hand (not the 1st line, but it does not matter and I checked the map before booking)

The apartment is spotlessly clean, and the host has literally thought of everything you may need to make your stay as welcoming & comfortable as possible. The extremely thoughtful touches like cereals, porridge, sweets. choc biscuits, wine, fizzy drinks and milk all left for guests by the host just puts the icing on the cake with this apartment 😊

Sunderland is a much under rated tourist place.

Sunderland is a much under rated tourist place. It has excellent beaches and parks, family and dog friendly with a vibrant shopping centre. Empire Theatre often has something on to see. Shame the national glass centre closed permanently. Love the Winter Gardens & museum with the dinosaur trail and value for money cafe. So close to the centre of the town and Mowbay Park so worth a visit with it's history.

We Love Staying At Roker. Lots Of Places To Eat. Our Favourite Place For Breakfast/Lunch Is 'The Bungalow' Cafe. Great Food And Friendly People. For A Night Out With Family We Love 'Gabriele's' Italian Food In Seaburn. Roker Is A Great Place To Stay As A Base When Visiting Other Near By Places. We Meet Up with Family At 'Seaham' A Lovely Place For A Day Trip. We Loved To Visit 'The Glass Museum' Such A shame This Time Looks Like Our Last Visit As It Is Closing Down! We Love A Trip To Town Including A Browse Around 'Jacky Whyte's' Market In 'The Bridges' shopping Centre. All In All We Love To Stay At Roker when Visiting Family In The North East.

Seaham, the Sheepfolds Stables and the Ray Lonsdale...

Seaham, the Sheepfolds Stables and the Ray Lonsdale sculptures along the River Wear really interesting and well worth a visit. Walk along Seaburn beach with plenty of places to relax and enjoy food and drink.

Some people visit without realising that Sunderland has a wonderful coastline! Brilliant beaches and marina. The riverside has been developed with a great walkway and sculpture trail, also taking in historic St. Peter’s church and the National Glass Centre. Recent years have seen much development within the city centre and a great new footbridge now links the centre with the north side of the Wear, making access to the Stadium of Light and Sheepfolds Stables, a fantastic social venue, even easier!

hadn't been to Sunderland for 10 years. impressed with the ammount of shops still open, keel square and the monument to Vaux Brewery. The walk over the new footbridge to the football stadium. The visit to the Stables at the end of the bridge where Si from the Hairy Bikers has a pie shop.Expensive but delicious definately a teat. Plenty of buses from Seaburn make use of your bus pass.

I visited Sunderland Museum, with interesting displays of...

I visited Sunderland Museum, with interesting displays of the mining and pottery industries. I also visited the National Glass Centre and saw an excellent exibition and an impressive demonstration of glass blowing. Be there soon as I believe the building may be closed from later in July 2026

Very clean and comfortable, lovely big bed. Reception staff were welcoming and very helpful. Hotel was a short taxi ride to the city centre, cost £7. But the hotel was very reasonably priced and there was free parking so we were happy. We liked the "poetic licence" bar next door and we had a lovely meal at the "atico" Italian restaurant 2 doors away.

Everything about your Hotel in my opinion was first class .The staff were fabulous very friendly and professional and nothing was to much trouble for them,in my case they went out of their way to return an item I did not realise I had lost.Thank you at Sunderland Holiday Inn

Lovely bedrooms, very welcoming host. Great Location, less than 2 miles out of Sunderland City Centre. Complimentary breakfast items in the kitchen area were a lovely bonus. Very interesting information and pictures in the hallways regarding the history of the building.

I liked the accessibility to the sunderland city centre, university campus, as well as sunderland interchange. It made transitions and transportation really seamless. Also, the heating in the flat is really exceptional and bed was good.
