The rooms were well proportioned, clean and probably too warm (although it was sunny and the room probably heated up due to the sun). The staff were very helpful. The hotel itself was luxurious and in great repair. It was great to have a Nespresso machine in the room, I don't function until I have had a decent coffee in the morning. The leisure centre had everything we needed to relax, pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room.

Ottery Saint Mary amenities were good Sainsbury's store and...

Ottery Saint Mary amenities were good Sainsbury's store and car park, the thing we noticed is it is not tourist driven 3 pubs, some smaller retail shops, various take aways we didn't see any restaurants. Ottery was 2 miles from where we were staying, located close to us was a farm shop and field kitchen Coldwater Harbour, they did tapas and pizza nights and occasional live music.

Lovely town, friendly locals.

Lovely town, friendly locals. Easy commute to beaches, hikes and historic buildings. Would return to the area and the accommodation booked. Visited St Mary’s church and walked around the town Itself, friendly feel to it.

The Staff were very friendly, the room was spotless and very comfortable, had a really good experience would really recommend this hotel. Breakfast first class and we booked for dinner which was excellent.

I asked the owners where I could eat on one of the evenings...

I asked the owners where I could eat on one of the evenings as the restaurant is closed for some nights. They told me I’d probably have to go to the nearest large town, when there were actually places I could eat locally. The staff were nice, and friendly.

A very well appointed cottage with excellent hosts.

A very well appointed cottage with excellent hosts. Quiet yet convenient location. A real home from home. Do visit the local farm shop a short walk away. Excellent produce and service. Ottery St Mary has supermarket shopping, choice of pubs and takeaways etc. Very convenient for visiting loads of places further afield. Sidmouth is a lovely resort and town; well worth a visit. Plenty of National Trust properties in the area too.

The room was super comfortable, immaculate and modern decor inc hot drinks and biscuits. Although advertised as a small double, just for myself it was more that adequate. Lovely clean bathroom, hot showers and great toiletries as well. The hotel is very beautiful inside and out. The breakfast in the morning was superb and the staff were very polite and accommodating. Central to the Ottery St Mary town so easy to walk in and beside a large Sainsbury’s. I highly recommend a stay here and hope to return myself sometime in the future.

The hotel has character. The location is by the river and very quiet with minimal light pollution. On the doorstep a 10 min walk away are a number of pubs and takeaways. The family who run it are very approachable. The breakfast is cooked to order no buffet. The bacon and eggs are locally sourced. The eggs with that deep yellow orange colour. Car parking is free and spacious
