The location was right on the Main Street, close to shops, restaurants and a trail for walking. Parking is first come first serve, a bit tight for large cars, but there is another parking lot nearby for which you have to pay during the day. The breakfast was very good. Plenty of choice, a combination of English and continental. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff very friendly. A welcome drink is offered, and we could play games in the lounge/bar area. The price per night is very decent, especially since it included breakfast, and our rooms were of a good size.

Pitlochry has a fabulous theatre which was the main reason for our visit. The town itself has a great range of shops and nice eateries. Transport links are good and the surrounding area is lovely. It’s a perfect place for a mini break at any time of year.

We spent two days in Pitlochry and the surrounding area.

We spent two days in Pitlochry and the surrounding area. The town has some lovely cafes and bars with plenty of great small independent shops selling a wide variety of traditional tartans and tweed goods. The walks around the area are fantastic with stunning views and a great selection of interesting places to take a leisurely walk including the Salmon ladder and the hydro dam. Visit Hettie's tea room for amazing home made scones and other home baking and for an evening meal McKay's fish and chip shop for a great fish supper. If it adventure your looking for head up to Highland Fling Bungee at Killiecrankie for a 40 meter drop above the river Garry.

Beautiful town, with plenty of shops to tempt the visitor to buy mementoes. Also, lots of nice cafes and restaurants. There were flowers everywhere...Pitlochry in bloom... and plenty of places to sit on a bench and admire them. Less than 1 mile from the amazing Pitlochry Festival Theatre. Close to the highlands. You should go. I almost forgot... there is a smashing second hand bookshop at the railway station, run by volunteers.. definitely one to visit.

Much more to see here than you think.

Much more to see here than you think. The town itself is charming with lots of lovely shops and cafes. The Pitlochry Theatre with the wonderful Explorers Garden behind was a lovely day out. We also visited the Dam and walked along the river. We also attended a concert in Pitlochry Town Hall, which was a great venue and great asset for the community. Will definately be back soon!!!

We have stayed at the Pitlochry Hydro many times before and have previously found it convenient and comfortable. Most unfortunately this time our arrival was delayed owing to unforeseen problems en route. I telephoned the hotel to advise them of our possible very late arrival, as our journey from home to the hotel is a 12 hour drive. I asked that a note be left so that staff members might be aware. We arrived at 02.15 am having been on the road since 04.30 am the previous day. We were told there was no booking in our name and possibly no available room. Computers were checked, no booking could be found. This spite of the fact the booking had been made six months in advance. No note had been left as I had politely requested. Thankfully, I found our booking confirmation on my phone and my husband also had a printout. A room was subsequently found. We had about 5 hours sleep before we had to be up and ready to vacate our room. No apologies at Reception were forthcoming. I was told no note had been left as the Receptionist on duty had left early in the afternoon to attend a funeral. I said I was very sorry to hear that but since I had telephoned at around 11.00 am, I felt there was ample time to have written a short note or asked another member of staff to do so. I wrote to the General Manager outlining our disappointment with our stay. He kindly replied, saying if we stayed again he would give us a room upgrade, if there was one available, as a gesture of goodwill. Personally, I’m not sure that a room upgrade adequately makes up for the inefficiency and attitude of the Reception staff and the resultant added stress caused to us following an already long, challenging and exhausting journey!

I have been to Pitlochry several times for short breaks. This time I spent a day at Blair Castle which is easily accessible by local bus from the main street. The other days, I spent visiting the local attractions and navigating the local paths. There are also abundant gift shops in the town centre.

Westlands of Pitlochry is a clean, comfortable hotel with spacious and well presented modern rooms that retain the historical charm of the building. The facilities are great - in room TV and kettle, water supplied in the room, water bottle refill and electric car charging points. The breakfast is also amazing with loads of options in the buffet. It's also, by far, the best hot breakfast buffet option we've had. It's also close to the town centre and the staff are very helpful.

We liked the location of the hotel. It was great for lots of the attractions in Pitlochry. We had a walk round Fascally Loch and then to Moulin. The hotel has a great bar area with comfortable lounge. We ate in the hotel on the first night and the food was really good and the staff were very pleasant. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a good variety of food to choose from. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would return in the future.

The staff were very friendly and helpful when my request for a ground floor room wasn’t available and were able to find a one when we arrived. The room was perfect with a patio and table and chairs outside. The breakfast was plentiful and the hotel was on the Main Street in Pitlochry making everything accessible.
