Our host Alex was very friendly, he was available if we needed anything, needless to say we didn't. The cottage was quirky with great decor and attention to detail , and the added bonus of the outdoor space was fantastic, to be able to eat outside, or chill and have a game of table tennis. Everything you could possibly need for your stay was there. There are some great walks from the doorstep. We would have stayed longer if we could have, would definitely stay again, 100% Thanks Alex

What Guests Said About Pontardawe:

Scored out of 10, guest rating 10

A lovely large village, friendly local people.

A lovely large village, friendly local people. Ate at The Dilwyn Arms four times during our stay, excellent staff and service, good food at reasonable prices. Also, enjoyed sitting outside the cafe area/cinema in the village square for tea, coffee and ice cream. Great scenic walks accessible from the village, especially the local Nature Reserve along the river.

Pontardawe is conveniently situated for Swansea and also lots of countryside. We visited Carreg Cennen Castle and the Black mountain. Had a great meal at the Plough in Rhosmaen, which is just outside Llandeilo.

We were visiting a nearby town so only had one full day in Pontardawe which was just right for us and we had a couple of fantastic walks. For food, we bought from the local supermarket and cooked at 'home'. It was easy to get around Pontardawe and it has a very interesting history.

Pontardawe is a lovely small Welsh town with a very friendly community. There are many good pubs plus all local amenities such as a Tesco with garage and Greggs. The river walk taking in the Swansea Canal was beautiful, including a lovely cafe en route. A real find and seemingly a good location to explore further afield like Brecon and Swansea. The Pontardawe Arts Centre hosted a brilliant gig(main reason for our visit) - great setting for listening to special music.

The cottage was lovely, homely, clean and full of everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The cottage is well-situated for touring around the area and for all the walks, historical places and coastal areas within the Vale of Glamorgan, Gower and the Brecons. The hosts were so friendly and helpful, giving us plenty of advice on where to visit, eat and walk..

The bunkhouse is spotlessly clean & very well situated on the edge of fabulous walking country but with easy access to all the amenities in Pontardawe. Phil is a most amenable host & knowledgeable about the local area which has a rich heritage. It was perfect for us to come back & relax in our comfortable room after a day out exploring. We would definitely return as it was such a convenient, welcoming place to stay & great value for money.

Great location, with a beautiful walk into Pontardawe alongside the river, strewn with wildflowers. Amazing history of the Hall from Phil, and so many thoughtful touches throughout. An absolute gem.
