The property was decorated beautifully and was exceptionally clean. The location was brilliant with very short drives to some lovely beaches and great walks for the dogs on its doorsteps. It was so quiet and the views from the accommodation were lovely. The host was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning

The hotel is in West Bexington not Puncknowle village itself. I did not visit the village, however, there is not much at West Bexington but it is a lovely quiet, off the beaten track, location with good views and close to the sea. There is one reasonable but rather overpriced restaurant near the beach and a few decent pubs in Burton Bradstock, a short drive away. Car is essential to get around. It is an all pebble beach, not that suitable for children, but again there are really good sandy beaches westwards along the coast.

Pretty Dorset village 5 minutes from the coast.

Pretty Dorset village 5 minutes from the coast. Food at the Crown Inn was very good value with friendly service. Puncknowle is within easy reach of many pretty & interesting other villages with the most amazing views wherever you looked. Bridport, Weymouth & Dorchester are not far away should you need a larger town.

A beautiful area that I had not visited before.

A beautiful area that I had not visited before. Lots of walks and owner provided a map of these. Unfortunately it was winter so I did not manage many of the walks. Beaches within easy driving distance - and possible to walk to for those who like longer walks. Local people were exceptionally friendly - especially on Christmas Day and Boxing day in the local put. I was a bit concerned about being an older lady on my own but I was made very welcome! I want to go back in the summer when I could manage more walks and visit more beaches. However, beautiful scenery, even in winter!

A lovely country hotel with comfortable bed & enough room to exercise our dog. But we Needed our extra woolies and warm pyjamas! We were very well fed, and wished we could have entertained our relatives from Abbotsbury but they were too involved in the Arts week there. So two evenings we spent with them and one in a nearby pub, very reasonable prices at Ilchester Arms at Abbotsbury with local butchery, who also do great pies and sausage rolls for lunch ! Sunday evening we were stuck behind a flock of sheep at West Bexington which made us late for Dinner !

Tiny little place - but great for walking (except the weather was wet and windy when we were there!). The position is good for exploring / travelling to other popular areas of Dorset - inland and coastal.

The beds!! The beds are like clouds with premium bedlinen, absolute heaven to sleep in! The host was communicative and extremely helpful, even going so far as to preheat the place in advance of our arrival on a 0 Celsius evening. It was clean and cosy with everything provided that you could need. The location is a little drive from places to see but there’s a cute little pub within walking distance and conveniences a short drive away.

Clean, comfortable, well appointed holiday home. Older children enjoyed the dvds and Wii. Good WiFi. Good outdoor space too. Liked hearing the sheep and turkey. In the evening the frogs croaking was a real treat. Lovely runs from there too along the coast. Photos of the village/ accommodation and from the Knoll on the hill near the accommodation looking towards Bridport.

Breakfast was excellent with a good varied menu and was well cooked. It was well served by friendly hard working staff. The whole breakfast experience set us up for the day. 8.30 for breakfast is a very civilised time for people on holiday.
