Very attractive structure, with a wide car park, and very quiet thanks to the surrounding park. Some fittings will need renovation in the future, but the services were great, meals were fresh and tasty, and all staff was friendly and professional.

Shine Chalet is a "tiny home" in the owner's back yard. Abi, the owner, is a kind, giving person who went above and beyond several times to see that we were very well cared for. The chalet is well located for our purposes in the town of Redruth. It is spacious enough for two people, quiet and well appointed for a stay of several days. We were there for five nights. We would stay there again .

What Guests Said About Redruth:

Scored out of 10, guest rating 10

A lovely town with lots of character.

A lovely town with lots of character. Has anything you'd need, shops, pubs, food, free parking, train station. So close to the best beaches in Cornwall, driving distance to Portreath and Porthtowan, and also easy train access into Penzance or Falmouth. The heart of Cornwall. Buttermarket is the local food place to eat at. Not too many activities for solo travellers but a perfect base to travel to the main beaches and places of interest - a much nicer base than Truro, being a big busy city, Redruth offers more calm, more charm and more character.

A gritty place, really.

A gritty place, really. If you visit, stop at the Treleigh arms. It's a very decent pub, but the current landlady is off the scale kind and pleasant. She helped us tired travelers with a very odd request that saved the day for us. Also the Penventon Inn is way fancier and comfortable than the rest of the town

I travel to Redruth as I have family living there. Its a lovely little town - very handy to get to the coast and the beautiful countryside. Would highly recommend. Redruth is rather small so easy to get around. The railway station is a great asset if you do not have a car.

The town itself is rather seedy and run down with many closed shops. However it was quite handy to Truro and a good stepping stone to head off to more remote parts of Cornwall. Good parking available in town

Redruth, like some other Cornish towns is struggling.

Redruth, like some other Cornish towns is struggling. Lots of empty shops and charity shops. Close to the A30, so it’s easy to go north south east or west . No real eateries . Within 4 miles you have Portreath which is a great place to spend a sunny day.

We spent 5 nights at Sunny Corner and have really enjoyed our stay. The apartment is spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. Katrina has done a great job in providing all the finishing touches needed to make the experience a great one. If travelling by car the location in Redruth is well situated distance wise for all the main resorts with the A30 only a couple of miles away. Pity we weren't able to utilise the lovely garden furniture with the great British weather not wanting to play ball but nevermind.

We booked 2 rooms. They were good value for money as the price included breakfast. The rooms were basic but quiet and clean, apart from mould in the ensuite of one room and smell of mould in the other. There was a nice pub close by with a friendly staff and live music on Friday night. The location was convenient for exploring Cornwall by a car. There was ample parking outside of the hotel.

Breakfast was not available and this was not made clear beforehand, otherwise we would not have chosen the hotel, as it is in an isolated location.
