Homely with absolutely everything you could need. A friendly, welcoming host. A delicious breakfast with everything locally sourced, even home-made bread. As far away as possible from corporate accommodation. Our second visit and hopefully won’t be our last. We loved it.

Very beautiful in the heart of the Northumbrian countryside.

Very beautiful in the heart of the Northumbrian countryside. Not for partygoers Great for families and their dogs (hard floors on the downstairs living area.) Boot room for dogs to sleep in and dry off. Spacious enough to set up a crate. Great walks that are off road.

Accommodation at the Manor House Inn is superb with very friendly staff, the landlord and landlady make you feel very welcome and have local knowledge of the area. There are plenty of walks to do around the village of Edmundbyers and the Derwent reservoir so you will be super fit by the end - there are other amenities on these walks to cater for everyone. Car is essential as public transport to and from the Manor House Inn is very limited however, once in Shotley Bridge you can easily get transport to Consett Co Durham where you will be able to get transport by bus to anywhere in the area. Beamish working museum in Stanley Co Durham is a must to see

The hotel was run by polite and friendly staff. The evening meal was well cooked and the dining room well set out. Our room was wonderfully clean and inviting. The view was awe inspiring. We loved the black cows. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay. We were sad to leave.
