Peaceful location with a lovely view of sheep in the fields behind. The staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The Continental breakfast was just amazing. Separate breakfast area with the room. With a mini fridge and toaster. Had everything from juice and cereals to fruit and yoghurt, croissants, bread and fruit breads to fruit bars and granola. Perfect stay.

Great place in a quite community. Made great use of the laundry and kitchen. Watched a cricket game in the field in front of the house. We couldn't figure out how to make the front door lock and the host took my call right away and helped us get it sorted. He also advised on a nice pub for dinner.

Such a cozy place to relax after a day exploring along Hadrian's Wall. Mike and Lorna are fantastic hosts, and The Side has everything you need to be comfortable and enjoy your holiday. Very conveniently located too, it's just a short 10 minute or so walk in to the heart of town. You'll love it there!

Great staff, excellent facilities and set in wonderful grounds, might be a bit isolated for some but for us it was an added bonus. Food was excellent, a buffet style breakfast but poached eggs cooked to order were brilliant and the one evening meal we ate in the restaurant did not disappoint. The spa area was immaculately clean and is well set out with a great steam room and more than adequate sauna, would have booked a treatment but our agenda did not allow. The main car park is some distance away and at the bottom of a steep hill, there is a drop off point and blue badge parking at the entrance but would advise booking this space if it is essential to you. All in all a great experience and likely to book again if we revisit the area.

This is a great place for families to go.

This is a great place for families to go. The pool has a lovely side and is not to deep. The are a lot of places to explore and enjoy. The breakfast was amazing and the staff went above and beyond to help get people settled.

Marcus on reception needs a big shout out, very helpful, professional and polite, a credit to the organisation. Pool facilities are great. Really clean and the steam room and sauna are great!. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. I would definately book here again, excellent short break.

Beautiful hotel in the countryside.

Beautiful hotel in the countryside. Made me feel relaxed and pampered. Nice walks in the grounds and plenty outdoor activities. Golf course was great & reasonably priced. Enjoyed a morning swim in the pool. Ate in the Brasserie restaurant, food delicious. Great variety for breakfast and plenty of it. Will definitely return, good value.

There are others, yet Slaley hall achieves its bio! Many people comment on the excellence in service, the team here are all friendly and will actively stop to say hey, good morning and how are you. The pool is a wonderful place to relax and dinner was fitting for hospitality venue of this nature. I don’t play golf, but watching everyone play was fun. Thank you Slaley Hall, it’s team and leadership team for a wonderful relaxing stay.

Excellent 2 night stay at the hotel. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice, and dinner in the Claret jug was also very nice. The golf course was in cracking condition as I enjoyed 18 holes, and my wife took advantage of a couple of spa treatments with Shashta, who was amazing and enjoyed an afternoon tea. We are looking forward to our next visit.

We had a great stay. The food was brilliant, the spa was really good, and the staff were excellent throughout. The hotel is lovely overall, but the rooms feel a little outdated compared to the rest of the property and could benefit from some modernization.
