The apartment is located in a flat area of Stockport, the market is just across the road up a hill. Most pubs and restaurants can be accessed without climbing up the hills or brows as they are called locally.
Great selection of eateries on the Underbanks and the Market holds Foodie Friday on the last Friday in the month. Which we were lucky to catch on our trip. Plenty of live music in the bars, particularly The Banshee just across the road from the apartment.

Plenty of bars and pubs within a short distance. Catered for all tastes. Football on Tv good at the White Lion. Excellent beer as always at St Petersgate Taps. 192 bus good for outlying hotel. Good Indian Restaurant and pub in Heaviley. We could visit again and go to completely different places.

We stayed in Stockport for one evening prior to a flight from Manchester airport. We visited a National Trust property - Quarry Bank - which is nearby and is well worth a visit. We would also like to come back to visit the hat museum.

To be fair it isn't in Stockport. It in a beautiful rural location with fabulous views of green countryside with a charming vista of Manchester in the distance. Yes it was! In my view ! Lol.
For us it was a little out of the way mainly because I'm increasingly stressed by driving but in normal circumstances it's nice and quiet. We ate in Glossop at Napolis which was fab last time we went but this time it wasn't great! Had a great ready meal from sainsbury in New Mills! Lots of good walks and paths. Binge Watched Riot women on the big screen! We don't have a TV.

Stockport´s location in a ravine with a Victorian viaduct...
Stockport´s location in a ravine with a Victorian viaduct towering overhead makes for a very unusual and intriguing town. Also most interesting are the timber frame houses one finds from Tudor times. Lots of pubs and not generic ones either.

My stay in Stockport was brief as I was at a tango workshop at Bramhall and needed an overnight stay. The accommodation at Alma Lodge was comfortable and very quiet. It also had good parking facilities.

Had everything you needed. The room was big, bed was comfortable and equipped with all you could need.
The location was perfect for the event I was attending, Stockport Noir.
I was warned in advance about potential noise but it wasn't a problem at all. There were two events happening and neither were intrusive even when walking past.
Not an outstanding hotel but it was perfect for what I needed.

Slightly out of the city centre, but only a 15min walk into the centre, the hotel was clean and had all the facilities we needed, however the iron in the room didn't work, but the receptionist arranged for us to use a different one in an empty room.

I’m from Stockport and frequented the pub in my past but first impression was how clean and nice it was inside. Easy check in and shown to an absolutely beautiful room, huge bed, quilt like a feather. Just superb!
