This was a wonderful experience and I loved the room, the view from the room, the staff, the grounds, the meals, the library and sitting rooms. The bar was nice and both restaurants served lovely meals.

The room was spotless and the beds were really comfortable. The grounds surrounding the hotel were lovely and well kept. There was plenty of parking. The food for dinner service was delicious though perhaps the starters and desserts could have been slightly cheaper. All the staff were helpful, friendly and polite.

I loved the layout of the room and the location is excellent.

The location was perfect, 100m from train station and very central to city centre. I loved the minimal contact with staff and the room was very comfy and clean!

Stylish, clean and well equipped

Definitely a highlight of our trip. Such a gorgeous place; felt like we were in an episode of Downton Abbey or something. Our room had a beautiful view of the lake, and even though it was cold and rainy, the hotel was cosy, warm and inviting, and set up perfectly for the Christmas period. Lovely staff who made us feel very welcome. Would definitely stay there again.

The property was central for our needs and the rooms where very comfortable and clean the restaurant was nice and relaxed atmosphere food was lovely and the staff were very helpful and friendly

The Staff are so Friendly. The room was a good size at the front. Loved the pool area and outside Jacuzzi which I only just learned was hot!!! Food Amazing. Love Manuel! He rec my haddock brekkie and was perfect. Comfy lounge bar.Booked again for December!!!

Staff was wonderful and attentive.. Location was great. Hotel rooms were spacious and had many nice touches.

Incredible all round, Sam was the best host we’ve ever had, so welcoming and lovely. The room, food and facilites were top notch!

Wonderful! Great view, very clean, and although the hotel is old, it is well maintained and has a unique historic charm.

Staff were really friendly and helpfull. They made sure i am comfortable. The place is very clean and quite , it is so peacfull for people seeking peace and relaxation . The view ftom the lake house room is really amazing . Thank you to the very friendly staff .

Our 6th time staying there. Perfect location for walking the fells. Easy walk to restaurants. Great breakfasts. Boot room for muddy boots. Staff are super friendly and helpful.
