The place is great. It's fresh, well cared for and pretty well equipped. The location is first class with cafes, restaurants and local pubs just around the corner. The views along the coast across the river and of the Tynemouth Priory are simply magnificent. Parking is designated so no problems there at all.

We walked into Tynemouth village along the sea front and was disappointed by how the area needs a good clean up. Visited the Salutation pub for a drink and seen how much that place needs a makeover. Very noisy and the toilets were a disgrace. Not hurry back there for a drink that's for sure. Coffee is good at Woods but disappointed to see the Whisky shop closed up and sold off. Sad to see the Gibralter rock PH shut and only opens 3/4 days of the week. A new Irish bar has opened and will try it next time for sure.

Has everything you need, and more. Every bar, cafe and restaurant we visited was 10/10. We stayed for 3 days and ran out of time to fit in all the places we wanted to try for food. For such a small town it has some incredible bars and restaurants.

Hamish was perfect for us! It is in walking distance to Tynemouth centre and the market as well as visiting our family, so was able to leave car on the side of the road near apartment all weekend. The facilities are great, there is everything you need. There is a pub opposite Hamish-The Gunner- plus a restaurant under the property with a local shop too, ideal if you just want to pop out.
