This hotel exceeded my expectations! For its price it was an amazing experience. I got an amazing room with a large amount of space and the location is fantastic. With there being a beach just a 5 minute walk away and bus stations right a 2 minute walk away, I got to enjoy my visit to Newcastle with little to no hassle.

What Guests Said About Whitley Bay:

It is a beautiful place, but there is not a lot to do...

It is a beautiful place, but there is not a lot to do especially with children. There was only 2 arcades which were really small, not many shops. We bought food and cooked for ourselves as nothing appealed to us to go and eat. We did have dinner at the Toby Carvery 20 minutes away one evening. It is easy to get around on foot and by car. There are lots of car meets in the evening with people revving and blasting music which really lets the place down especially when out on an evening walk and they are racing round the streets near St Mary's Lighthouse.

The coastline is beautiful. The lighthouse area is lovely.

The coastline is beautiful. The lighthouse area is lovely. There are plenty of places to eat and drink round about. The Metro is great to get into Newcastle without the hassle of parking. Coming back you can go from Newcastle to South Shields, take the ferry across to North Shields, then jump back on the Metro into Whitley Bay.

A perfect holiday resort on the stunning north east coast.

A perfect holiday resort on the stunning north east coast. Great for families, couples and singles. Fantastic beach and superb walks along the headland overlooking the sea. Lovely small town with everything you need. Metro link to Newcastle, from where there's national rail connections to anywhere in the country, and Scotland isn't far away.

Whitley Bay is a lovely place for a short stay.

Whitley Bay is a lovely place for a short stay. The beach is clean and very long. The lighthouse is a nice walk. There are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and bars. Parking is difficult. Most of the streets are permit parking only. We were at a wedding in Spanish City which is a lovely venue with very helpful staff. Tynemouth is a short drive or metro journey and worth a visit to Tynemouth Castle. There are great shops and restaurants there too.

Whitley Bay has all the ingredients of a traditional British seaside holiday but is less tacky/more upmarket than many. There is a superb esplanade which is great for all sorts of activities for children including safe cycling. Fish and chips is superb but there are many other cuisines to choose from in good value restaurants.

Lovely staff, super friendly & always down to chat. Were super helpful with a package we needed to send. Held our bags when we went into town quick too. Were always smiling. Room was very clean, had coffee and tea to disposition. Lovely view on the beach. The only thing i would point out was the lack of plugs and the instability of the Wifi. just combersome to charge our things in the evening. Apart from that we had a lovely stay and the Windsor hotel was a great choice.

Nice static, comfortable and clean, adequately kitted out but a large salad bowl would have been nice. Neat and clean park. Our problem was Wi-Fi, very weak and the QR code in the booklet didn't help. Battled to connect and speed was so slow. All in all we enjoyed our stay. Nice walks and Whitley Bay is spotless, fantastic council. Thank you.
