Impressive place to stay with old England style interiors I saw in movies only. List of facilities is impressive - there is even library you can read books :-) It has very nice restaurant, bar, pool etc. Staff was very friendly an helping.

Wantage is a market town (Saturdays) with some local shops...

Wantage is a market town (Saturdays) with some local shops and the centre is nicely conserved. The wonderful parish church dominates one corner and there are lots of pubs. Wantage is excellent as a base for visiting the Vale of the White Horse. There are also local walks particularly along the Letcombe Brook which are really worth doing.

Only there after dark to find a place to eat as The...

Only there after dark to find a place to eat as The Volunteer Inn does not do evening meals ,although we could have ordered a take away to eat there. The Indian Restaurant in Wantage is superb and well worth another visit if in the area.
