There was everything we needed. It was good to have bowels, plates, glasses and cutlery supplied also handy to have a fridge. It was also nice to have seating outside in the garden for use in good weather.

The garden furniture was comfortable. I was positively surprised with the size of the fridge/freezer. The internet connection was good as well.

A lovely little place Good cafes

A lovely little place Good cafes Nice walk along harbour area Few shops to look in . Good place to unwind . Pub ,sit in garden overlooking sea ,chill There are caravan sites around Met up with family in waregraves camp site ,excellent food serve in The Granry ( restaurant on site ) Very good campsite for the usual caravan hokiday

West Mersea is a lovely little island.

West Mersea is a lovely little island. There is a great art cafe and a gallery, plenty of fresh seafood places. You can also go for a stroll on the quiet coastline where you will find The Company Shed, well known for its oysters and other seafood dishes. Book early if you want to eat there as it gets full quite quickly - its that good. They also sell the delicious wine made in a vineyard on East Mersea - The Native is really good. I would recommend wrapping up warm as the sea breeze is very chilly. Overall a great place to relax and get away from the noise of the city.

West Mersea had a lovely feel to it, like a place that is...

West Mersea had a lovely feel to it, like a place that is lived in, with many visiting weekenders. We walked along the beach and it was a delight. Sunsets were truly beautiful. We ate in the Coast Inn, which was OK, and the Waterside Pizza place, which was excellent. Fish & Chips from the Mersea Fish Bar were good too; huge portions or well cooked food. Great base for exploring Essex.

It is a place for relaxation with friends and family. There is a small fishing harbour nearby with some more activity / traffic and people strolling around but we did not have much time to engage.

It is get away from it type of place, some good walks both along the coast and through the countryside. If you like seafood then Mersea is a great place to go to. Watching the sunsets over West Mersea beach is very special.

West Mersea is a charming seaside community with lots of...

West Mersea is a charming seaside community with lots of interest in the harbour area. There was a children’s event in full swing when we arrived and the sense of family community was very strong. Later in our stay we went crabbing on the pontoon with the grandchildren. Great fun! Everybody was friendly and welcoming. There are many places to eat for all tastes, numerous walks, beaches and views of the estuary.
