People come to Chichi for its indigenous culture, but the town itself is really ugly. The famous market is basically a slum, and the Mayan rituals around the churches are not really for outsiders to stare at, it feels quite intrusive and disrespectful to do so.

One night is plenty in this town to see the main highlights.

One night is plenty in this town to see the main highlights. Would not do as a day trip-traffic is horrendous-it took us 5 hours to get here from the GUA Airport. If you like markets definitely come-if not skip unless it’s on your way to somewhere else.

Dirty

Dirty Many vendors cannot understand “no”and follow us everywhere we we go nagging and nagging and very annoying. One followed us to our hotel another followed us to the restaurant. The market is not all that as Antigua has a market and Guatamala City has central market with equal products and food. I found out they charge more on Thursdays and Sundays because of the tourists. The local restaurants quality of food is terrible. We ate at San Juan and Las Brasas Not worth going to Chichicastenango.

The family who owns the property is quite lovely. It is just far enough out of town to be relatively quiet at night. The breakfast was tasty, cooked nicely, lots of food, good value. Goes without saying, the coffee was mediocre. It was very fairly priced for market day hotel room in Chichi. There is a nice trail leaving the hotel which heads up the hill to a local Mayan ceremonial spot.

Spacious hotel on great location, near famous market and colourful cemetery, with nice garden. WiFi is available only in common places. Staff is very kind, breakfast is ok, better side of it is nice view of cemetery from restaurant. Room is ok, little bit dark and water pressure in bathroom was not so great. Also colder water than expected. They have 3 parrots in the garden.

Breakfast was okay, nothing too special. We liked our room, in front of which we were able to park our car. We stayed here one night since we wanted to go visit the market in Chichicastenango. It's a little bit outside of town, which was great, because it was quiet. I'd stay here again for sure! Very clean, staff was friendly.
