Upon arrival at the hotel, everything was amazing. We were greeted with a cold towel and lovely fresh drink. We were then taken to our (upgraded!) room and offered a tour of the hotel grounds to get the lay of the land. The buildings and facilities are absolutely gorgeous and unique. Upon completion of the tour, we sat down for the included afternoon tea service at Babah Koffie which was so much more than I was expecting - it was almost like a meal! We had dinner at the other restaurant in the hotel, Jajaghu Restaurant. The green prawn curry and butter chicken curry dishes were wonderful! Breakfast the next morning was included and was also amazing. The coffee was to die for and we purchased some bags of coffee beans from their shop to take home. They allowed us a late check out and we also booked 30 minute massages for each of us, which were much more extensive than I was expecting. The back/neck massage was perfect before our long evening flight home. Wish we had booked a longer stay here!

From my perspective, The room is very clean, you can use all the utilities, you can eat with a dinning table so it won't be hard, you can invite friends, they offer buffet breakfeat and specially it is spacious. almost the same price with other hotel but with little space for a group of 3. To add it is beside the mall so you have an easy access to foods. It also a offer a great view of the city.

Indonesia’s World City

Indonesia’s capital, sprawling Jakarta has hurtled into the 21st-century at a startling rate. Rapidly expanding, it is an eclectic mix of cultures with an electric clubbing scene including the EX at Plaza Indonesia mall and those near Blok M mall, popular with expats. Jakarta shopping is great, with modern malls all over, interspersed with traditional markets, some underground.

Thousands of Jakarta restaurants and cheap street food provide tourists with tons of choices. Little Japan is best for sushi (and karaoke), while colorful Chinatown has fantastic dim sum. Buzzing around all are bajaj, Indonesia’s equivalent of tuk-tuks.

The main Jakarta sights include Monas National Monument in green Merdeka square. Spectacularly lit at night, it has a deck with fantastic city views. Opposite is the presidential palace, patrolled by the national guard. The oldest part is Batavia – the city’s Dutch Colonial name – and is home to the Jakarta History Museum.

Away from the bustle is Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, a suburban park celebrating Indonesia’s rich culture through museums, dance and film, centered around a large lake with Indonesia-shaped islands. Ancol Dream Park also features waterparks, beaches and amusement rides.

I was visiting my Indonesian friends.

I was visiting my Indonesian friends. I feel that if someone goes to Jakarta by themselves, completely alone, then that might be a bit disappointing because Jakarta is not like a tourist city, more like a place where people live daily. Other than that, be prepared because the traffic is really that bad, as they say. We wanted to leave the city and go to a place that is 2 hours away from Jakarta. In the end, we just gave up because the traffic was too heavy 😂

It's a lovely country to visit with lots of friendly people.

It's a lovely country to visit with lots of friendly people. The food is amazing too. However, the public transport could be improved, although Gojek and Grab are readily available to help you get around the city.

We tend to travel a little differently.

We tend to travel a little differently. Rather than rushing through all the tourist attractions, we enjoy slowing down, soaking in the local culture and experiencing how people actually live. Most of our trip was spent exploring the Blok M area on foot. We loved the bakmi at Bakmi Piring, the Sambal Matah stall in the basement food court (good enough that we went back twice!), and even spent a night at Jaya Pub, Jakarta's oldest pub. Great atmosphere, friendly crew and an amazing live band. We also visited Pasar Loak Jatinegara, Pasar Pagi Mangga Dua and Grand Indonesia Mall, while making plenty of stops at roadside food stalls along the way. Honestly, we wished we had more than one stomach! One of the biggest highlights was Taman Safari Bogor. Although it took us about three hours to get there, it was absolutely worth it. Feeding lions and driving through the safari while feeding free-roaming animals was an unforgettable experience. Easily one of the best wildlife parks we've visited, and we're already planning to bring our nephews there one day. To end our holiday, we spent time at Pulau Macan in the Thousand Islands. Clear waters, beautiful weather and a wonderful crew made it the perfect way to wrap up our trip. Yes, Jakarta traffic can be a real killjoy, but staying longer and choosing a walkable neighbourhood like Blok M meant we never felt rushed. Indonesia has left us wanting more, and we're already looking forward to exploring other parts of the country on our next visit.

This was a shopping and eating trip. a great spending trip due to the high-time low currency exchange MYR & INR. Went to Plaza Indonesia, Grand Indonesia, Sarinah, Thamrin City, Ashta Disctrict 8, Ciputra Mall Nusantara. Wanted to go Tanah Abang but local friend advised against it. He said many stores are closed due to online shopping competition. PIK and PIK2 were nice at night, but the road is terrible!! I guess thats what happened when reclamation area are not given due time for settlement. Took a drive around North JKT - visited the historical Masjid Luar Batang, watch the fishermen at Sunda Kelapa port, and had scrumptious and delicious seafood in Muara Karang.

This was my second time staying here and I had another comfortable experience. I really love the location as there are plenty of food options nearby. It is also conveniently located only around 10 minutes from Grand Indonesia, Plaza Indonesia and the Senayan area. Another plus is having a massage place inside the hotel which was very convenient after a long day and also a balcony! Overall, it is a comfortable and well-located place to stay and I would happily return again.
