We stayed for one night and had a really lovely experience. The host welcomed us on arrival and was exceptionally kind and helpful, which immediately made us feel at home. The beds were very comfortable, and we had a great night’s sleep. Even though we didn’t opt for breakfast, there was more than enough in the room for a quick snack before heading out, which we really appreciated. The town itself is small and charming, definitely worth a stroll. We’d also recommend staying for dinner at Lukers Bar. It has great atmosphere and a perfect way to end the day.

All this area has a beautiful landscape with a mixture of new and old, rural yet always near towns and villages. Easy access by main roads but also along quiet lanes. It's inland but only a short drive to the coast or Shannon waterways.

Loved Ballinasloe. Perfect little town.

Loved Ballinasloe. Perfect little town. My Mother's family lived nearby years ago and descendants still in area. For us perfect and lucky with the weather too. Gullanes hotel the very best to get the most of hospitality in the area and hear those amazing local people in town. It is also central.Would recommend to anyone looking for traditional Irish hospitality and welcome.

Ballinasloe in itself is a small town, it took us an afternoon to walk around, visit the different shops, the marina and the three churches. It's very pleasant and the locals are friendly. On the Friday we left there was a indoor market by the cinema selling handmade items from buns to marmalade to baby gifts. Ballinasloe is 30 mins from Athlone and 45 mins from Galway by train, handy spot!

Hotel Was very central to the town and shops. Not a lot do at night. We spent most of the next day in Galway Salthill and Barna, as the evening event I was meant to attend on the Sunday was cancelled. Restaurant in the hotel was very good and very accommodating too.

The hotel is right in the town centre with a large carpark at the back perfect if you are travelling by car. The receptionist was very welcoming and filled us in on everything we needed to know. Although our room was small it was nicely decorated and was fine for one night. Excellent lighting in the bathroom. Lovely breakfast with very many choices and most importantly we were served by a very helpful young server, not asked to make our own tea!

Hotel was great, staff and food was incredible , only little issue was no hot water in the pool changing rooms at the time of our stay and some of the tiles in the bathroom floor had come loose, only small issues that are probably fixed already, staff were incredibly nice especially the waitress in the bar when we had dinner, great spot and definitely will be back to stay again

just an overnight stay, so a big comfy bed, breakfast was fine - we hadn't warned the host ahead of time we needed vegan options. The hotel is quite remote and we struggled to find anywhere to eat locally.
