Fabulous rooms, as described on website. Finished to a very high specification. Hair dryer, Toiletries included tea coffee etc. Vincenzo was a thoughtful and attentive host. He really looked after us throughout our stay. Very comfortable bed after days of sightseeing in a beautiful area of Italy. Breakfast was served in a cafe across the road. No problems there

We did not expect such an amazing place for the money we paid. This makes you want to come back to the city and stay again. Inside the area is a park directly in the city and the room has 2 levels. Clean, cozy and quiet! All our recommendations. We stayed with two young kids.

We had a lovely evening meal and traditional croissants and coffee breakfast from local restaurant and breakfast bar and Herculaneum was amazing! Easier to navigate than Pompeii and very interesting! Some fantastic artefacts! We walked to our room from train station and it was quite a long walk down local streets but not too far to Herculaneum

A quiet and beautiful city with not too many tourists, a real Italian lifestyle. I would say it's pretty safe since I walked at night and nothing happened, but always walk on well-lit streets, and don't wander around after 23h too much. The only thing I would recommend is renting a car. The city is really awesome, but going to the main cities like Sorrento and Naples is a bit chaotic, especially if your main thing is to relax, because the train, especially in summer, is packed with tourists...

Herculaneum is a relatively small archaeological site as most of it lies 50' under existing buildings. They are excavating slowly and new finds are interesting. Read up before you go and you will not need a guide - one asked us for 150Euro - ridiculous.

So interesting to look around these historic ruins and hard...

So interesting to look around these historic ruins and hard to imagine what happened those many years ago.The entrance walk was very smartly lined by shrubs and plants. Had a 30 minute walk from the ruins to the port area to get a decent view of the bay of Naples,it was impressive and seemed popular with an area for children to swim in the sea and a few nice little bars.

Apart from the excavations, there is not a lot to do or see in Ercolano. If you are a light sleeper, like me, avoid staying on Corso Resina. Busy thoroughfare, day and night. I would advise getting to the ruins early if you value peace and quiet and like to take your time and be lost in you own thoughts and imagination. Loud tour guides and big groups spoilt some of my time there as I had to abandon some spots sooner than I would have liked! I picked up provisions in the local supermarkets and alimentari as most of the eateries between the station and Herculaneum are geared for tourists. Great, if that is what you prefer. Easy to find your way around - from where I was staying, it was just as convenient to use Portici-Ercolano station and the trains were much nicer. As a lone female, I found the Circumvesuviana train did not announce stations and due to graffiti covering the trains, including the windows, and the lack of signage at stations, it was a little stressful getting there after dark. That said, €3.40 to get to Sorrento (single fare) was a bargain! If you are into history, definitely pay a visit to the MANN museum (Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli). Again, my advice is to get there early (opens 9am) if you want to avoid the crowds.

We really wanted to see the archaeological site and stay at Villa Durante. Both places didn't disappoint. We also found good restaurants there. Pedestrian pavements were better than in Naples but still difficult to walk on with luggage. It is a good place to stay if travelling on to Pompeii or Sorrento.

This was our first stay while in Italy. We were there for two nights and had a very nice time while there. The room and other areas were gorgeous and the grounds well kept and very pleasant. They have a very nice restaurant with an outdoor patio, which was wonderful. The surrounding town of Ercolano is not that pretty, so this was a welcome oasis. It is very close to the ruins of Herculaneum, which we visited on our first day. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Very impressed with the room for the amount it cost. Perfect location to visit herculaneum ruins. Hotel very clean, breakfast room was very pleasant, clean and friendly staff. Room was good size, clean with a small garden area. Reception staff friendly and helped arrange a taxi for me. They also have a very pretty garden coffee bar/terrace.

The location is great, right across from the gate of Herculaneum and a ten-minute walk from Ercolano Scavi station. The rooms are adequate in size and nice. The outdoor patio is inviting the spend time there reading. Breakfast is solid and good.

Perfect location: a train station is in 10 mins, a beach in 30 mins, a supermarket in 5 mins. Naples are reachable by train within 30 mins. We loved the neighborhood and restaurants nearby. The apartment, in general, was nice and clean.
