Where do I start?! This place was amazing from the wonderful staff who were so receptive, kind and helpful to the great rooms with a great price tag. There was even breakfast provided for a great price. I was traveling for two weeks through Italy and stayed in a different place every day except when we came upon Hotel Gratzie. It was such an amazing place located in a quiet, non-touristy, beautiful part of town. The experience was so good and the location was so good that my girlfriend and I decided to stay another day. Upon arriving at the hotel, the manager already knew my name and immediately told us about some of the best dinner places around, sights to see, and places to visit during our stay. We were checked in within a few minutes, and we had an early check-in which they graciously allowed us. This is the only hotel in Italy that I specifically marked on google maps so that I could return on my next trip. It was one of those places where you somehow know deep down inside that you will be back in the (hopefully near) future. Thank you Hotel Gratzie for your kindness and helpfulness during our stay. You truly run a fantastic business and I hope to see you again soon!

The location and nice view from the room

The views were phenomenal. The hotel was within 3-5 minutes walking from the old town. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and rooms were spacious. Highly recommended!!

A beautiful, quiet and intimate place facing a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Poets, and on clear days even the snow-capped Alps. Perfect for relaxing or for day trips in the area. If you wish to visit the villages of the Cinque Terre, you can drive 10 minutes and park near the La Spezia train station, from where trains depart every few minutes — just 7 minutes to the first village. The location is also ideal for exploring the villages and towns around the Gulf of Poets.

Beautiful accomodation, lovely staff

The property is high over the bay with huge windows which open out. The public rooms have a fantastic view of the bay and it’s very comfortable sit there and order drinks or simply relax. Breakfasts are excellent and the staff kept checking if we wanted expressos, lattes or whatever. It’s very near a supermarket and a five minute walk from the main restaurant zone.

We loved this beautiful hotel in Portovenere! It was raining the afternoon we arrived, so made reservations to eat at the hotel. Great Food, Wonderful Staff, Lovely Room. Perfect location with access to Cinque Terra.

A Hidden Gem Near Cinque Terre – Highly Recommend! My sister and I stayed here for two nights during our trip to Cinque Terre, and we couldn’t have been happier. The place is beautiful, with just a few rooms, which gives it a cozy and peaceful vibe. The lady who manages it is incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming — she truly made our stay special. Our room had everything we needed and more. I don’t know how many stars this hotel officially has, but it felt like a five-star experience — even better than some luxury hotels I’ve stayed at in Las Vegas! Everything was spotlessly clean, stylish, and thoughtfully arranged. Breakfast was included, and the host sent us to a nearby café where we were served a lovely, café-style breakfast that we absolutely loved. It was such a nice local touch and added to the charm of the stay. The location is absolutely perfect — just a two-minute walk to the ferries going to Cinque Terre, and surrounded by charming coffee shops and restaurants. On the night we arrived, there was a local wine event happening right on the street — it was magical to stroll around and sample wine in such a lovely setting. Truly a fantastic stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Very kind knowledgeable staff and great central location

The host’s hospitality was exceptional in all aspects. In addition, he was kind enough to introduce us to the main attractions in La Spezia.

Hosts were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. On-site parking was great. Room was very clean and plainly furnished, but more than acceptable. Breakfast was very good.
