I recommend it to all solo travelers and travelers with friends or family in Fukuoka. I ate at Eel Itoshima 鰻いとしま, and it was absolutely amazing. I recommend walking and seeing the sights. They distribute walking directions for tourists in brochures for free, and you can find them at the airport and other places in the city.

Fukuoka offers a variety of options for tourists, ranging from the amazing food stalls along the river, and the beaches along the bay front near Fukuoka Tower. And if that doesn’t take your fancy and shopping is something you want, then there is the Fukuoka Canal City department store which offers a wide variety of shopping options. This was my first time there, but will definitely come back

It was more amazing than I had thought.

It was more amazing than I had thought. Honestly, I went it as a stop over city on my way to Nagasaki - where it's slower paced. I thought Fukuoka was all about shopping and food, and that it'd be crowded, which I wasn't too keen on. However, it happened to be an amazing experience as it was pouring rain, which meant less lines, and more cinematic feels.

The town is very easy to navigate and there was a lot to do.

The town is very easy to navigate and there was a lot to do. We did a trip out into the extended region and the pick and drop off at the train station bus area whilst extremely busy is very well organised. As you travel south the culture is much more relaxed and was a nice change. Would recommend a visit to Fukuoka and is accessible easily if you have a full JR Rail Pass.

Enjoy the luxury of this new hotel enhanced by Japanese style a culture. It’s not exactly a home away from home; it is the home you wished you had. It costs, of course. But there is value here that makes it worthwhile.

We got a queen room and it was very comfortable and spacious enough by Japanese standards. The public bath was clean and relaxing and the breakfast was delicious. It was also very conveniently located, only a 2 min walk to the metro station and a short 10-15 min walk to Tenjin shopping area. We previously stayed in another boutique hotel near Hakata station, but Mitsui Garden is far superior! The lighting, sound proof, and details of the room were very well designed and made for a comfortable stay.

Typical small japanese aparto building. Self check-in works, but there is no staff. Quiet. Location was meh - neither here nor there there: Close to canal city, walkable from hakata station with luggage, but a bit too far from the subway, from tenjin, daimyo, ohori koen etc. If you know fukuoka well, decide for yourself. On a first visit we would chose something different. We chose it because our travel plans changed and we wanted to see a different part of town. Also the pictures looked much better.

Location is great as close to the airport and Hakata station and easy walking distance to the main sights and the canal area. Facilities were great, lovely touch to be able to pick your own shampoo and toiletries in reception, the kids loved that. Also nice to have own kitchen in the room and the bathroom was excellent, the best we had in Japan. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Location was excellent. Easy to get to from the airport. In the city centre and very close to public transport with Hakata Station very close and Shinkansen trains. As a budget hotel the rooms are small - as all budget hotels are in Japan - but this was on the bigger end. Rooms are noticeably bigger than APA hotels. I would stay again
