What a gorgeous cottage! We were 2 couples and had plenty of room. Added bonus of a washer/dryer which was great. Loved the outdoor area but best of all was the view from the front of the cottage, looked directly at the sea over the road. Parking was directly outside the cottage. Very clean and well appointed. Recommended.

A good central location to explore the Doubtless Bay and Far North areas. Mangonui is a very small quaint little town with a historic harbor front area hosting a selection of eating and drinking establishments. Great for a few days stay.

It’s a very small place with a few lovely shops and cafes.

It’s a very small place with a few lovely shops and cafes. The board walk was nice but could have been a bit longer. Unfortunately we didn’t stay long enough to enjoy going out fishing etc. Will definitely stay a bit longer next time.

Underated quality of fish and chips at Mangonui Fish Takeaways overcooked and exorbitant prices plus New Year surcharge didn't help one bit. Hotel fish and chips great, if not better. Easy travels to Taipa and beach area. Great entertainment at the hotel. Main stores caters for practically anything. Simply lovely place just to relax and enjoy others company.

Mangonui is gorgeous - fabulous walkway, unique art & gift shops, great eating - Breakfast at Jesse's was huge & delicious. It is also handy to all the East Coast beaches - the north is always a favourite trip down memory lane for us.

A cute lil fishing village with a lot of vibe.

A cute lil fishing village with a lot of vibe. Newly built walkways around the coast, lots of wonderful restaurants - with takeaway options. The 4-square is very well supplied and people are friendly and relaxed. The ocean waves lap in here, nice wee spot with excellent scenery with a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Lovely accommodation at really reasonable prices.

Staff were friendly however there was a power cut so no tv, unable to buy food or drinks. Power was off for a lengthy time it would have been nice to get an update or a discount. Other than that it’s always nice to stay

So close to the beach. Went for a swim everyday. Every room we had ,had a sea view. You can hear the waves at night. Spa pool awesome, close to the beach. Not far from Mangonui,5 min drive. You can go for a good walk to a reserve from both ends of the beach. Easy access, very friendly host. Free WIFI-Internet was fabulous.

The Old Oak Hotel is a lovely hotel in an ideal position in Mangonui. We enjoyed the short walk in to the village. Our room was spacious and had been thoughtfully equipped with everything one might need, and very comfortable. The owners were most welcoming and helpful.

The location of the hotel is fabulous. Such a lovely serene spot. It needs to be promoted more. I loved that you could sit outside on the veranda and watch the sunrise and sunset! Absolutely beautiful. Great for walks too.
