A great modern cottage in a farmyard setting. There were ducks, geese, sheep and dogs too and we loved the baby chickens! We were visited regularly by Red the hen so we had to watch where we were walking..... So much more entertaining than spending time at the beach! There was nothing we lacked inside the cottage and the hosts were very helpful.

I found the property well kept and spotlessly clean. The hosts were friendly and made me feel at home. The view of Maungatapere mountain and the valley was uninterrupted and beautiful. Also quiet and tranquil. I had the choice to sit outside and eat my dinner. The Queen size bed was very comfortable. All the linen and furniture was clean. The. decorations such as the artwork and displays in the glass cupboard were well presented and tasteful. The carpets were in very good condition. The shower had good water pressure and temperature. The property is of a decent size. with a large hallway passage Even though three guests including myself were staying on the Thursday night. With the large carpeted hallway passage there was plenty of room for all of us without disturbing each other.

I felt like I was staying with family friends. They were so friendly, I had some incredible chats with everyone, and of course the dogs were sweethearts - well trained, didn't jump up at me but did want pats if possible. I don't really write reviews normally but honestly this stay was a highlight of my trip. They did also mention that some people who come to stay aren't that sociable and that they are more than happy with that - very much each to their own so even if you aren't sociable, this will be a relaxing stay. Views were wonderful from the deck, spa was delightful, but honestly, the people were fantastic. Definitely think I'll stay here any time I'm in Whangarei going forward.

It was great to have separate Bedrooms, and Living area. The hosts were friendly and checked if we needed anything. It was a great place to relax in with everyone able to have their own space when they needed it. The Kitchen was well appointed and functional. Also had quite a large bathroom.

Peaceful location with a lovely little sitting space. Hostess was friendly without being intrusive. Space for luggage was limited, but we were able to make it work. Easy to find and park. Town was an easy drive and convenient for the wedding we attended out of town, as well as the kiwi sanctuary.
