Beautiful spot to stay after doing a big overnight hike. Well thought out inside and spacious enough for 4 especially having the kitchen seperate. Loved the outdoor bath and fireplace and it was such a lovely way to start the day, sitting on the front deck listening to the tui sing.

The ocean was clean with a big surf and black sand. It was easy to get around, and there were plenty of eateries. There was a 4 square that had everything you need. We liked the walks and fresh air.

Oakura is a small village just out of New Plymouth.

Oakura is a small village just out of New Plymouth. It has a long sandy surf beach with great holiday park on the foreshore. Many other accommodation options are available with beach and sea views or inland farm views. The village itself has a 4 square supermarket, chemist, a busy pub which hosts good kiwi bands and serves tasty food, a selection of cafes and other evening restaurants plus craft shops. A perfect base to explore the surf highway and mountain walking tracks, Bring your surfboard and walking shoes!

It is a natural beach loved by surfers!

It is a natural beach loved by surfers! Take the kickboard, go directly into the sea, and enjoy the fun of surfing. If you are tired, you can rest on the beach. The sunset is beautiful and not to be missed. But there is no lighting after sunset so be careful walking back to where you parked

A great place to stop off and relax and enjoy the beach.

A great place to stop off and relax and enjoy the beach. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the accommodation comfy and clean. It was nice to sit out on the veranda. The shared bathroom was large with nice showers and was very well looked after. The kitchen had several ovens, cookers, microwaves and sinks to cater for a number of people. There were also free gas bbq's available to use. You needed to provide your own cooking utensils and plates etc.

Absolutely lovely area, not too far from New Plymouth...

Absolutely lovely area, not too far from New Plymouth township. We enjoyed our purchase from the local fish n chip shop, hamburger, egg burgers and fish n chips. Well worth it. Went for walks on the beach, great place to relax and watch the local surfers doing what they love. Stayed for 2 nights (wasn't long enough). Lovely place, locals are friendly, easy to navigate your way around the area. Well worth a visit.

We needed a quiet weekend away to relax and recharge and...

We needed a quiet weekend away to relax and recharge and that is what we got. Loved sitting on the deck having a cuppa watching the surfers and listening to the native birds in the bush and going for beach walks. The accommodation was lovely and comfortable, parking a bit tight for larger vehicles. The local cafes, we’re a couple of minutes away in the village. Delicious food, exception staff and friendly locals. We did visit in winter but was still a lovely spot to stay.

The apartment had spectacular views across Oakura beach, it was spacious, lovely bathroom with spa bath a good shower. We appreciated the 2nd toilet as we were 2 couples. Coffee supplied but no tea, lovely kitchen facing the views. It was sunny and hot, no shade provided for sitting on the balcony so could only sit outside in the morning as was too hot late afternoon with the sun beating down. Beautiful sunsets. Overall a comfortable stay

The property is a one-off, set back from the main new Plymouth town In oakura. It meant that we could relax on a small town with views over the beach. The owners were very attentive, but left us with privacy after the initial introductions. The property is clean, decorated in a home away from home way that makes it very comfortable.
