The property was beautiful and made for a wonderfully relaxing getaway. It’s been created with all of the best details kept in mind - you’re able to sit on the bed with the balcony door open, watching the birds fly around outside. There was good temperature control inside the room as well, so it wasn’t too hot during the hot Summer weather. We took full advantage of the nice setup, enjoying the provided coffee and muesli in the morning.

This was the most beautiful place to stay and I would highly recommend it. Tranquility in the trees is absolutely right. The big windows give you a great view of the woods around you and you can sit on the balcony and listen to birds whilst you have your breakfast. Also, easy driving distance into Pahia with lots if restaurants and things to do.

We stayed in a 2bed room “Deck” room. Meaning it was on the second floor, with a furnished balcony, which had a beautiful view of the Bay of Islands! The unit itself was nicely laid out with the 2 bedrooms, separated from each other and the other common rooms, by a hallway with multiple doors, which increases privacy and decrease the sound. The hallway had doors to the kitchen/living room, the toilet room, and then shower room

It is an historic hotel, so the rooms are small, however, the reason for staying was the history and location. The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking is available. Location is central and is perfect for strolling around town and enjoying the waterfront. Dinner was delicious in the hotel restaurant.

Very good location, easy to access beach, pier. Safe free parking, which is important. You live nearby so you don’t worry about parking time limitation. Winnie is very nice to help. Kitchen is also good.

The stunning views, the comfy bed, the quiet location. After the hustle & bustle of Paihai it was great to come back to the sanctuary of our cottage each day. Opua Marina - quite a treasure. Easy car ferry over to Russell, General Store, several dining options, spotless laundromat right next door to best bar/cafe with a French Chef for delicious evening meal. We loved our time here.
