The room is very clean and the bed is comfortable, the fire place is effective and beautiful when turned on. Good breakfast. And staff are very helpful. Nice rural setting.

The location in the middle of the temperate rainforest and its access to the Franz-Joseph glacier is great. Ample parking. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and you feel connected to nature. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and well organized. We loved the bird sounds playing in the room and the bathroom. Awesome turndown service at night with glass water bottles & delish chocolates. Great laundry facilities on site. They truly matched the sounds of the real birds outdoors. The staff was absolutely 100% professional, helpful and accommodating. First class! The five course dinners were delicious and we really enjoyed the view tables They reserved for us each evening. We really like the all inclusive aspect of this retreat as you are pretty isolated once you arrive in France Joseph. This is a cozy spot to end up in at the end of the day!

We were booked here but upgraded to the Te Waonui hotel so please recognize that this review is actually of that facility. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. We enjoyed the Chef’s 5 course Degustation at the Canopy Restaurant at the hotel. Breakfasts provided plenty of variety. This was a great base to visit both Fox and Franz Josef glaciers.

The apartment, set in a building dating from 2019, features free Wifi and free private parking.

Beautiful home tucked away. Felt very private…but so close to town and trail heads. Quiet. Well appointed. The house has everything that you would need. Had a washer and a dryer. (Many places only have a washer) Manager and owner were super great communicators. Very nice people Comfortable bed and nice linens. Large house. Could have easily spent the week here. Thank you for everything.

We stayed one night in this compact, comfortable and private accommodation. The location was perfect, being only a five minute drive from the busy, touristy town of Franz Josef. We had open space around us and an amazing view of snowcapped mountains. The night was clear and we were rewarded with a beautiful star filled sky. Communication and self check-in was clear and easy. The bed was comfortable and the bedding and towels were good quality. I thought we would go to a restaurant for dinner, but the accommodation was perfect for us to cook dinner and enjoy the peace and quiet.
