Seems like an older historic property but was renovated nicely. Clean. Quiet even though we were above the restaurant/bar. Loved the patio off our room & the quaint small town! Easy check in & check out. We would highly recommend this property.

Breakfast was excellent. Snacks and drinks in the room and in the common area were very nice. I think we received an upgrade as we were the only ones renting at the time. The room was large and the bathroom was excellent. The hostess was very friendly and provided tips on souvenirs.

Stayed in Tuakau close to family and to organize my cousins tangi in west auckland. A little frustrating traveling into auckland daily because of the traffic. But as a get away from home and to just chill it was perfect. Takeaways are open late and the locals are lovley.

Tuakau is a great rural town.

Tuakau is a great rural town. All basic needs are available in the township. On Sunday there is a market in the town centre. There's a war memorial cemetery as well as a nice bush walk in the same spot not far from town called Alexander Redoubt. There's some great waterfall walks in the area and Port Waikato is a 25min drive. Travel a little further past Port Waikato and you'll discover Naike Caves.

Tuakau is a really friendly community.

Tuakau is a really friendly community. Although what would be considered a rural township, all the basic needs are right there. Great meal options at the cafes my favorite being The General formerly known as Sugar Plum. They do the best coffe and great home made food as well as some local produce. My other place is recommend is Chez Bean. They too have good food and coffee. Tuakau is a great central location not far off the motorway, only 10mins from Bombay, Pukekohe and Pokeno. 25 minutes to Sunset beach out Port Waikato and only 15-20 minutes to Meremere and Hampton Downs.

Tuakau is a great lil community and not too far from the motorway. Has all the basics needs avail in it's little town. The locals are friendly. Good cafes to get nice food and coffee. I highly recommend Sugar Plum cafe and Chez Bean. I always enjoy my visits here. A nice river walk and a bush on walk called Alexander Redoubt. Easy town to walk around. Only 7 mins to Pokeno and 10 mins to Pukekohe it's a great central point to take a break.

The room, but keycard wasn't working so couldn't go anywhere as we'd have to leave our room unlocked so we could get back into our room. Manager was great opening the door with her master keycard but she couldn't get another keycard till the morning staff came on shift

I stayed in one of the ground floor apartments. These rooms are a great size with the basic kitchen amenities required for your stay. Fitted with a bench top element, toaster & a microwave perfect for those wanting to prepare a meal instead of dining out or ordering takeout. Like the other rooms the bathroom facilities are great, beds are super comfortable great pillows. Parking right at the door as well. Overall this hotel never fails to please.

Being back in NZ for the first time in awhile and being able to stay at the Tuakau hotel made my stay even special. Close to family and friends and also my favourite childhood Chinese shop and more. The staff at the motel and also the bar have been very friendly and helpful and I love staying here. It’s like I’m home without being home.
