It was our last night in the fjordland area before traveling to Queenstown and ending our 2 weeks in New Zealand. We wanted to be in a remote southern location and the Cliffs was a perfect choice. The views and location to the sea was exactly what we wanted. Be sure to visit the beach nearby. Our hosts were friendly, informative and very responsive to our questions. We enjoyed meeting them very much. We have great memories of the Cliffs.

The location is excellent with walking access to the beach. Food was similar to other B&B's that we stayed at in New Zealand. We rated this as in the top 10% of B&B's we stayed at in New Zealand over 6 weeks. Gave an excellent recommendation for dinner.

Lovely and spacious, better than the photos. Loved the rural location with good access to the Hump Ridge Track, and the Waurahiri Jet boat trip across Lake Hauroko, and we loved going through Clifden Caves. Nic is a wonderful host who leaves delicious muffins and checks in to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. A truly unique and special stay. There are restaurants ten minutes away in Tuatapere but we cooked in the unit.

The Lodge at "The Cliffs" at Tuatapere is the perfect place to stay before walking "The Hump Ridge Track" (the 11th Great New Zealand Walk) . The views were stunning; the location tranquil and very handy to the track. We ate at the Sunset cafe at "the Cliffs". The food was both generous and excellent. We are an older couple, but members of a Tramping Club and very keen on tramping.

Greart coffee shop & gallery, quaint old village, amusing tales including air raid siren that was an emergency call out for emergency volunteers to get to the station - thanks boys on your balcony opposite the war memorial for the 1st siren meaning option!

Yummy meals in the local pub bistro, great beach down the road and a well stocked superette ( small supermarket) Funny and slightly rude t shirts and other souvenirs on sale worth a sausage theme! You are close to the start of the humpridge track which is the best of the NZ great walks i have done ( I've done 5 of them)

Tuatapere is a rural town of a small community, living on nature's edge, in western Southland, New Zealand. Surrounded by fiords, mountains, rivers, lakes and the sea. It is charming and friendly, there are very nice people. We would recommend Tui Base Camp Cafe for great coffee, yummy, always good and well priced food.

Really nice town & though we only passed through on our way to walk the Humpridge track we had a wander & found the Info centre staff very helpful. Would imagine it will get busier once the Humpridge becomes a great walk.
