The museum was really good as we had heard of Norman MacLeod...

The museum was really good as we had heard of Norman MacLeod leading the Scots settlement, so good to see it so well presented. Thought the Celtic Barn was a good venue. Unfortunately we had limited time as we were attending a funeral but would have loved to have got out to the beach.

Waipu is a interesting town as it has a uniquely Scottish...

Waipu is a interesting town as it has a uniquely Scottish history. The town has an excellent museum and a number of nice cafes and restaurants. a short drive and you have two very nice beach areas to relax those being Waipu Cove and Laings Beach with several good hikes in the area as well.

Great place to step away from the hustle and bustle of city life and reconnect with nature a bit. Good food at the waipu cove pub, if a little pricey (the food is quite gourmet and the drink options were many)

I've stayed here many time and love the location. Waipu has one of the most perfect long beaches in Northland. Some will disagree but it a great place. The Cabins are right on the beach and perfect for evening walks or summer swims, or surf. Also highly recommend the cove cafe and restaurant right across the road.

My partner and I had an amazing stay at the Waipu Thunder Domes. The accommodation was unique, peaceful, and beautifully set in nature. Waking up to the stunning sunrise and falling asleep under the stars made the experience truly special. A perfect getaway, we would absolutely stay again.

A good selection of cereals, yoghurt, fruit juice, tea and coffee with freshly made bread and jams. A short drive to Waipu and Cove for a selection of restaurants, exceedingly comfortable rooms and lovely view across the bay. Would certainly stay again.

The hosts photos say it all. Everything was as shown in the pics. There was nothing lacking as we had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Being a rural location and yet only a few minutes away from Waipu and surroundings worked for us.
