The staff are incredible—always ready to help, super friendly, and hilarious! The food was outstanding, especially the fish dishes; the carpaccio was unreal. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, offering a wide variety of options that even satisfied my picky teens. Every night featured a grill with the catch of the day, adding to the delightful dining experience. The ambience was amazing! Mr. Ally, the manager on duty, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The reception and restaurant staff were equally exceptional. Thanks for a wonderful stay! The property is right at the beach. Felt like having a private beach. The best service I received. The staff made me feel like the most important person on the planet ( kind of miss them). Beautiful serene resort , beach access, big bedroom with porch. Spacious bathroom . I enjoyed my stay very much . And the staff , hotel manager and restaurant manager were very accommodating. I would definitely recommend if you ever plan a trip to Zanzibar. They provided live band entertainment nightly during dinner. & they offered a wide variety of options for food.

Quite a rural area with many street shops.

Quite a rural area with many street shops. Hotels are a short walk from Jambiani Street and on the beach. Mostly an area for R&R tourists with some sports and other outdoor activities. The beach is covered with locals trying to sell you anything. Interesting to experience the area, but we are unlikely to return.

Was okay. I knew what I was going for.

Was okay. I knew what I was going for. It is a very quiet and secluded part of Zanzibar. No night life, not much of the blue waters, the tide can be funny too and the shores can tend to have lots of weed. But that is okay.

If we had our time again, we would have spent a couple of nights up north at Nungwi beach, then moved south, because you only saw the real Zanzibar in the south east, Nungwi was very fake and full of tourists

This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten...

This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten track... a village, by the sea, with an increasing number of resorts being added. I hope it does not lose its charm to the crowds. This is a quiet, special place.

Just up the beach from Paje town, a little quieter but thats...

Just up the beach from Paje town, a little quieter but thats what was nice. Wandered to different restaurants along the beach for lunch and dinner. Limited during off season but enough open. We came via Dar Es Salaam airport and ferry. If you can't get an e-visa before arrival, plan 2hrs to exit the airport. We missed our booked ferry and had to pay again for the last ferry on a different company. Used Zanzibar Quest to book the ferry and transport with exemplary service and support via whatsapp and email. The new travel insurance requirement $50p/p on top of the $50p/p visa fee is a scam that mars the experience. The amount of times we had to show our passport and visa / travel insurance was reminiscent of the cold war. Inefficient and overboard. So if you can fly direct to Zanzibar and use e-visa or have patience and a loose schedule. The drive to the Page beach area took about 1 ½ hrs with the first ⅓ taking ¾ of the time with a typical african road experience. Get a good driver. Driving licenses are issued by testing payment of fee. The driver booked by Zanzibar Quest was excellent. Great beach, wind was consistent during the afternoon to either kite or cool down. Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent. Not a fan of the immigration process or the fees.

We stayed at Hoom, in Dongwe, north of Bwejuu.

We stayed at Hoom, in Dongwe, north of Bwejuu. We did not actaully see the village of Bwejuu at all. The main road runs behind the beach from Jambiani to Dongwe and continues up north to Pingwe. You can travel by taxi (expensive - need to negotiate) tuk-tuk (less expensive, negotiate extensively) or daladala (cheap, you need to adapt). There are resorts and hotels along the beach, and right behind it, and also very poor villages. People burn waste in the evenings, including plastics. Zanzibar smells of nice spices, but also burnt plastics. Disposable plastic bags are banned in Tanzania, thank goodness, but plastic bottles are everywhere. We loved the beach in Dongwe because it's less commercial and has lots of natural shade. It also has some nice hotels and restaurants.

The African Paradise has stolen our heart. The location is briliant- right at the beach. Every day you can choose between the sea or the pool. You can walk (or run) for kilometers on the beach. You can walk to Paje if you want huste and bustle, while the hotel is at a peaceful and quiet location. The rooms and pool are good and clean. Food is great, both for breakfast and dinner. But the best part of the hotel are the owners who are genuinely friendly, extremely hospitable and always ready to help. The staff is also friendly and professional.

Mustapha's place is a very cozy and friendly one to stay and enjoy Zanzibar. It is located near the ocean (a nice beach is just 50 meters away), in the quiet part of the island, in the village of Bwejuu. The breakfast was very good, rich in fruit and very tasty. You can also order lunch or dinner there. The bar is also well supplied, good drinks on the menu :-) The whole area is well equipped with swings and hammocks. Very easy to chill there. Rooms are simple, but nice. We really appreciated mosquito nets over the bed.

it’s a stunning hotel with different facilities, restaurants, and pools that can all be used. the breakfast was huge and always served with a fresh platter of fruit. and the staff was also so kind! they helped me out with all my questions and especially Kevin was always smiley and super easy to talk to! would really recommend this place to anyone looking for a little getaway on zanzibar. also the room- i woke up overlooking the ocean and seeing the sun rise! magical!
