Being right on the lava flows was magic. The location is remote. The unique experience, space, and quiet will be a treasured memory. Whereas most resort, hotel stays all blend together. During our stay the oven was inoperable so be discretionary about your grocery run before your check in but everything else was perfection. We’d return and probably will! 3 nights was about perfect. I would have loved one more night but then a shift would be appropriate for those like me.

The Phoenix House is a special place to stay. It's probably not for everyone, because it is completely off the grid and it's in a remote location which gets very dark at night. But it is one-of-a-kind! For a "tiny house," there was plenty of room for me (solo traveler), and it is decorated so thoughtfully. I don't know how to describe it but it had a vibe that was relaxing and exciting at the same time. I even saw Kilauea erupting in the distance in the middle of the night, which was an awe-inspiring memory I'll carry with me forever.

This place was sweet. We really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable, clean, good vibes. Well equipped and clean kitchen, important for us because we prefer to cook. Loved all the artwork and vibe of the place. The stars were incredible. Marissa, the manager, is wonderful and friendly, with lots of suggestions and advice on things to do. 100% would stay again!
