I stayed for three nights and joined several excursions arranged by the resort, all of which felt carefully tailored rather than touristy. My guide, Tran, made a huge difference in the experience. He shared stories and historical context that helped me understand Vietnam in a much more meaningful way. Some activities included well-known attractions, but the quieter moments were the ones I loved most — hiking through the mountains, visiting peaceful parts of the national park, and learning about local medicinal plants alongside the resort’s gardener. Returning to the resort each evening felt incredibly comforting. The hot bath, the silence, and the fresh local food created the perfect balance after active days outdoors. More than anything, what stays with me is the kindness and attention of the team. Cabalina feels less like a hotel and more like a place created with genuine care.

Stunning rooms in a stunning location with incredibly helpful and kind staff. We felt lucky to be in this peaceful valley in the center of Cat Ba, perfect to explore the island from. Shout out to John for helping with transport at the end of our stay (but also the entire staff were lovely!). Beds/bedding were so cozy at the end of long days hiking around.

My stay at Woodstock Jungle Camp was excellent. From the first moment, I felt welcomed by the friendly staff, always attentive to my every need. The place exudes tranquility, surrounded by mountains, ideal for resting or reconnecting. Access is very easy, even by motorbike. The cabin I stayed in exceeded my expectations: comfortable, clean, and with impeccable facilities. The restaurant's food was also a huge plus: everything I tried was delicious. Without a doubt, this is a place I would choose again. Highly recommended if you're looking for an authentic and relaxing experience in Cat Ba.

Great location near restaurants, but far enough from the clubs that it’s quiet at night. The staff really make the place though. The manager Hoai doesn’t speak much English, but is great with Google translate. She helped me figure out how to get from Ho Chi Minh to Cat Ba (I was going to fly to Hanoi and take the bus, but she gave me step by step instructions on a shorter route from Haiphong airport to Cat Ba, and even sent photos of the bus I was to take.). And she was always checking in via WhatsApp, to see if I needed anything. Property has an elevator which was really nice being on the 6th floor!
