The owner is breathing life into the Leeu Gamka Hotel & I am glad we planned a stop in Leeu Gamka instead of Beaufort West on our return home. It is a unique experience: wild west meets modern comfort. You may feel like you have arrived in a ghost town but you will soon be made to feel welcome! The rooms are large, beds are comfortable, bathroom beautifully renovated and the aircon provides relief from that Karoo heat. There is a communal lounge with TV as well as a dining room with multiple tables. Tea, coffee, water, rusks & a selection of cereals are available in the dining room for guests. There is also an outdoor braai area. When planning your dining options keep in mind that The Leeu Gamka Hotel only has the Leeu Gamka Butchery & Farm Stall nearby.

If you love the outdoors, when you think of heaven this is the place you conjure. 4 beautiful dogs greet you at the sprawling farm. Horses nearby. Birds flitting into fountains. Huge natural pools for swimming. The indoors is just as perfect. Massive bedroom with all the comforts. The most comfortable bed ever. Huge bathroom. Two patio doors w an extra door connected to the big common room and kitchen. The owners have to be the nicest ppl you’ve ever met. They offered anything we needed, gave us keys to the gate across the way to caves hiking trails, even called the Tyre place in town to help us when we had a flat. If there is heaven, this is it. I could live there forever.
