This stunning villa is set in the most tranquil and private location, nestled on a hillside surrounded by olive groves with magnificent views of the beautiful lake below. Accessed by a one-kilometre drive from the road on a largely concreted track, this modern detached house, of impeccable character, features a large covered terrace on two sides of the house along with a good-sized patio area and a lovely private swimming pool measuring approximately 9 x 4.5 metres. This is the place to relax and unwind. Cortijo Rocas Altas opened in early 2022 after a year of refurbishment, repairs to the swimming pool, creation of an extensive patio area, and the replacement of the photovoltaic solar system which provides electricity to the property. The Villa features an open-plan ground floor area with a good-sized kitchen, a large lounge with a wood-burning stove plus an adjoining tv area and a downstairs bathroom. Upstairs, the three bedrooms are all of a good size, each with an en-suite bathroom. Two of the bedrooms enjoy private terraces taking in even more of the views across the lake and to the hills beyond. Within a one-hour drive of both Granada and Málaga Airports the Villa is easily accessible by car on good roads. Our guests really appreciate the location of the Villa, giving access to the cities of Córdoba, Granada, Málaga, and Seville which all offer spectacular and historical visitor attractions. In addition, a trip to Ronda and Setenil de Bodegas makes a good day out and Antequera is a charming town within a 45 minute drive with natural rock formations at El Torcal. For the slightly more adventurous, remember the walkway through the El Chorro gorge, that is the Caminito del Rey.

Richard and Jo moved from the UK to Iznájar in January 2019 having taken early retirement. They were attracted to the area's beautiful lake and wonderful scenery as well as the easy access to airports and the cities that are nearby. Their two dogs keep them busy and they enjoy joining the local Walking Group to visit different parts of this stunning part of Andalucía. In addition, they both enjoy exploring the immediate area on foot, walking the dogs and establishing walks that they enjoy throughout the year.

Locally, in the hill-top town of Iznájar, just a short drive from the villa, there are a variety of attractions including a castle, churches, several bars, restaurants, pharmacies, a medical centre and a variety of shops. To the west of Iznájar town, there is a small sandy beach on the edge of the lake where you can enjoy the sun, go for a stroll, swim or hire a pedalo boat, kayak or paddle board. Further afield, in Archidona and Rute, larger supermarkets offer a greater selection of food and drinks. The area offers superb walks with stunning views, whether it be among the olive trees in the hills or overlooking the lake. For those keen on cycling the terrain surrounding the Villa can offer quite a challenge!
