We’re child-friendly, with everything you need for a relaxed “home-from-home” break, whether you’re with us for a long weekend or a two-week holiday. Free, dedicated off-road parking is provided, although you’ll rarely need the car — almost everything is on your doorstep. A bathroom with bath and over head shower, and an en-suite shower room to the main bedroom means more flexibility for families and couples. Bamburgh is the ideal base whether you want to unwind and slow down, or explore the very best of Northumberland — from coastal walks and wildlife boat trips to castles, village cafés and local artisan shops. Bamburgh is unique because it is a quaint Gvillage dominated by Bamburgh Castle and surrounded by vast sandy beaches. Although it's a only a small village, Bamburgh has a good selection of restaurants, pubs, tea rooms, a butcher, two delicatessens, an ice cream parlour and gift shops. There are two children's play areas, a tennis court, a cricket and football pitch. There's a beautiful Golf course which has views across the sea to Lindisfarne and inland to the Cheviot hills. The RNLI museum dedicated to local heroine Grace Darling sits opposite historic St Aidan's church. Farne Islands boat trips from nearby Seahouses to see puffins, seals and other wildlife and you might see a dolphin or two during the trip. It's a short drive to historic Alnwick Castle and Gardens, location for many films including Harry Potter, and not far from Wooler and the Cheviot Hills, Chillingam Castle, Berwick upon Tweed and many other pretty villages and castles. Day trips by train or car to Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tyne. Border towns, stately homes and gardens nearby.
