Carbon Zero Guesthouse running totally on Renewable energy since 2014. Carbon audited 2021 Carbon neg.We are acredited by Visit Wales, Greentourism, Green traveller and Green Leader ( Global Trip advisor eco scheme). 1883 Wrsgan slate managers house with a 1 k ramp delivering slate to garden / ffestiniog steam railway.
We are idea alpine location just 3k south of Blaenau ffestiniog with the Ffestiniog steam railway folding around us to Tanygrasiau station 200m away
We are passionate about the area, ecology and outdoor pursuits. We are both qualified mountain leaders with decades of loving the area. We have no staff and pride ourselves on a personal service and sharing our advice if asked. Both of us have decades of teaching, Ceilia primary and John engineering, technology and disability.
Eco wise we punch way above our combined weight winning national eco awards such as Considerate Hotelier. Twice. Previous winner the Savoy.
Very locally, within 400m is Ffestiniog steam trains ( Tanygrasiau station ), trout lake fishing, multi pitch climbing, rambling, geo caching, bouldering, GO BELOW mines exploration company, mines heritage Lakeside cafe ( office hour only ) and the acre of our Mountainside garden/veg plot/orchard mountain steam.
3k up hill is the quirky town of Blaenau ffestiniog. Transport hub is mainline train / bus / Ffestinog steam railway.
Also a baker who is a rocket scientist who has patended the Kurdish pasty, recording studio, cinema, swim pool, indoor golf, 3 story soft play, great cafes, 3 supermarkets, 3 cash points and a arts venue with strong Regae roots. Julian Marley did 2 nights at London 02 and 1 at Blaenau.
Just 1k uphill from here is LLECHWEDD slate caverns and ZIP WORLD TITAN/ BOUNCE BELOW / ZIP WORLD CAVERNS and ANTUR STINIOG international down hill bike trails.
