It was a beautiful place surrounded by mountain peaks, the room was nice and cozy very clean, I loved it cause it was close to the slate quarry which you can visit through Zip world.

Love how the cottage was furnished and the location, close to the grocery stores and many attractions. We enjoyed the milk and bread basket for breakfast. The beds are comfortable and the backyard has a lovely ambiance.

Lovely cosy, clean and very well maintained cottage, just right for the two of us. The owners have thought of everything you could need from the well equipped kitchen, smart TV as well as books and games. Great having the parking at the back for security and loading/unloading. Location is great for acccess to Snowdonia, coast and loads of walks. Not a large choice of places to eat in Blaenau-Ffestiniog itself but excellent local shops for food, including a large Co-Op a short walk away.

A very good location to explore North Wales.

A very good location to explore North Wales. Accommodation is clean and quaint and views from the bedroom I occupied was lovely as well as the breakfast room. Room consumables could be a little better as well as a more substantial breakfast that would start the day off nicely.

This hotel is in a very scenic part of Wales.

This hotel is in a very scenic part of Wales. We had no trouble parking our car. We were given a top floor room, which required steep stairs to be negotiated. There was no offer to help with luggage. The room was very cold upon entry, although there were heaters in a cupboard, which did enough to warm the room up. Several items of furniture were in the room, but there was a distinct lack of places to put things - there was no set place to put make-up on, there was no shelf in the bathroom to put toiletries on, there was nowhere to put toiletries in the shower and the mirror over the sink in the shower room was not at a suitable height for a 1.88m male (it was far too low). There was only hand wash gel in the bathroom, there was no shampoo. Sockets were not at a premium either. We chose to have breakfast at the hotel as it wasn't included in the £105/night charge. This cost £10.99 per breakfast, for which we received a cooked breakfast of mediocre size, (which was just hot enough to eat), apple juice, tea and instant coffee. There were no other items offered for the price paid. In summary, we paid close to £127 for one night's stay and breakfast at this hotel, which was well over what it should have been for the quality of the room/facilities/breakfast we received, in comparison to other hotels used on this trip of ours. Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was not good; as such, we will never return to it again.

It's an old slate quarrying area and the spoil heaps dominate the little town which, like most small Welsh towns has nothing of architectural interest. However it has basic shopping including chemist book shop pubs (unvisited), plus a Co-op and a Morrisons Extra and a chipshop. There is also a liesure centre and a swimming pool (also not visited) There is also a zip wire at the old slate quarry and the location is an excellent centre for walking and as a base for visiting Snowdonia, Llyn peninsula and the Isle of Anglesey. This is the stronghold of the Welsh language, so be prepared to hear it spoken everywhere. Can't comment on the nightlife, as we're no longer of an age to be concerned about such thinks. However it's likely to be limited

We stayed in the absolutely wonderful Gwesty Seren Hotel and did the 70 mph Titan Zip line, fantastic. Take a bee-line for the grapes hotel bar and restaurant to eat out, amazing. Photo is one of the amazing views from the Gwesty Seren Hotel

Blaenau-Ffestiniog isn't a place I would choose to revisit.

Blaenau-Ffestiniog isn't a place I would choose to revisit. It's old and tired, situated beside a slate quarry. Most of the pubs have closed. It has two thriving shops, the COOP and Morrisons. The narrow roads, and linear layout were off putting for me, although the railway has always been an popular.

We had a wonderful stay at the Gwesty Seren Hotel. It served perfectly as a base to explore Wales, as it's location is relatively close to most of the activities we wanted to do (hiking, mountain biking, etc.) The rooms were cozy and comfortable, and the staff were super friendly and helpful.
