Cascade Cottage sits in Exford, in the heart of Exmoor National Park, taking its name from the cascade of water that runs from the lake on the hill above and passes beneath a wooden footbridge right outside the front door. The cottage sleeps up to 6 guests across three bedrooms: two king-size double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom (shower over bath, toilet and hand basin), and a twin bedroom accessed via one of the doubles. The front door opens into a spacious country kitchen with a large dining table, fitted with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster and food processor. A utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer and Belfast sink leads off the kitchen, along with a downstairs toilet. The cosy sitting room has two leather sofas, two armchairs, a wood-burning stove and a smart TV, with logs provided and more available locally. Each of the main bedrooms also has its own television, and wireless broadband runs throughout the property. Bed linen and towels are provided, along with a hairdryer, and guests are welcomed with homemade cake, bread, jam, butter, milk and basic tea, coffee and cleaning essentials. Electricity, heating and wifi are all included in the price. A travel cot and high chair are available on request for a supplement. Outside, the stream runs along the front of the cottage within a fenced, planted garden, and a footbridge leads to a private lawned area and terrace with table and chairs, ideal for breakfast in the morning sun. Off-road parking is available for two cars, and an EV charging point is on site, charged per kWh. Dogs are welcome (maximum two) by prior arrangement for a supplement per dog, with towels provided for them; they should be kept off furniture and away from upstairs rooms. The property is suitable for guests with restricted mobility but is not wheelchair accessible, and it is strictly non-smoking.

The centre of Exford is a 10 minute walk. Here you will find two pubs that serve lunch and evening meals, and a tea shop. There is also a village shop that sells various essentials, and also contains a Post Office counter where you can get cash. Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Tesco will all deliver to Cascade Cottage so you can take away the worry of bringing all your food with you. Exford is situated pretty much in the centre of Exmoor offering great access to all that Exmoor has to offer. It is a small rural village based around a traditional village green with children play area, beside it sits the village shop and post office. Exford and the surrounding area is famous for its beautiful and unspoiled countryside making it ideal for hiking, biking, riding and fishing. Just 10 minutes from Exford is Alderman's Barrow, just one example of the opportunity explore an incredible Bronze age Landscape, with it’s mysterious stone settings, barrow and hut circle. A footpath runs from Alderman's Barrow to Larkbarrow which is the ruins of an isolated farm that was used for firing practice during World War II.
