The flowing, open plan design creates light and space and makes it the perfect house for family gatherings and celebrations in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds. There’s also a pretty enclosed garden and a table tennis room. The excellent village shop and café are highly regarded and a handy two-minute walk away. The local pub is just up the road. Neighborhood info

Blockley is mentioned in the Domesday Book and rose to prominence during the 18th and 19th centuries, becoming a major centre for the English silk industry with the silk mills using the waters from Blockley Brook, which still runs through the centre of the village. This is one of the larger villages in the Cotswolds with plenty of walks and attractions close by plus a fantastic village shop and café. Moreton-in-Marsh is a 10-minute drive away and has a wide range of independent local shops including The Cotswold Cheese Co. There is also an excellent market every Tuesday (and has been since 1227) with more than 200 stalls. The Great Western Arms pub is a few minutes’ walk from the cottage, serving classic pub food and a range of local ales from the Hook Norton Brewery. The exceptional Churchill Arms pub in Paxford is a five-minute drive and is a beautiful 17th Century Cotswold inn owned by a talented chef. Blockley’s unspoiled location amidst the stunning rolling landscape of the Cotswold hills affords it with a plethora of walks. Head to the Cotswold AONB website’s Self-Guided walks section for a wide choice of local walks.
