Yew Trees Cottage is a former coach house with a wood-burning hot tub on a private farming estate. The property has been in the same family since it was built in 1834. The cottage was fully refurbished in 2008 to create a cosy, self- catering holiday home with little touches to make it feel at home. Boasting a sizeable private garden, guests are also welcome to explore the extensive walled garden and grounds of Cumledge House; in the region of 6 acres. The River Whiteadder runs nearby and can be accessed by a private path for walks, fishing or swimming. Dogs are welcome, for an extra 25 pounds per dog per stay (maximum 2).
Your host, Jane, is sixth generation to have lived and run Cumledge Estate and she looks forward to welcoming you to the Scottish Borders.. She enjoys gardening and is kept busy trying to keep the herbaceous borders in order. She also enjoys growing a wide variety of fruit and vegetables and if you time your visit right you might be able to purchase any gluts. You are also guaranteed a warm welcome from 2 enthusiastic spaniels.
Cumledge Yew Trees cottage is situated in the middle of farm land but is only a 5 minute drive to the Scottish Borders market town of Duns. Other than the cockeral crowing, the owls hooting, the cows mooing or the birds chirping, you can expect a quiet stay. Also, with no light polution, you can enjoy a spot of star gazing.
