Ellers Farm Cottage is a quaint country cottage situated on a working farm in the South Lake District. Sleeping a maximum of four it is suited to one to two couples or individuals who want to explore the surrounding countryside. Nestled beneath Farleton Knott close to Jct 36 of the M6 it is easily accessible yet set in a rural location. Perfectly located for those wanting to explore a number of areas including the Lake District, Cumbria and Yorkshire Dales as well as parts of Lancashire. The cottage has been newly renovated and comprises an open plan living and kitchen area with a wood-burner and dining area. Upstairs has two double bedrooms, one with a tv and a small bathroom including bath with shower above. Outside is a small yard area with table and seating. Your beloved dogs are welcome to be part of your stay (max 2 dogs) We do however ask that they don't go upstairs. There is a door to keep them downstairs. Also they will need to be on a lead whilst in our yard for their own safety. We are also happy by separate arrangement for you to bring your horses to make use of the fabulous hacking we have to offer both on our doorstep and a short drive away.

We both work here on our farm managing our herd of suckler cows and Alison also manages this holiday let as long as looking after our two children and all the paperwork! Our ponies are also a big part of our family on the farm! We love the area in which we live and hope that you will too. We are a stones throw from the Lake district, the hills of which can be seen from the farm and only 13 miles from Lake Windermere where you can enjoy a host of visitor attractions including museums and stunning walks and rambles. Yorkshire is a picturesque drive down the A65 where the are numerous villages and sites of interest. The Ribble Valley is also within easy reach where again there are plenty of walks and rambles among stunning scenery. We are a mere 6 miles from the stunning market town of Kirkby Lonsdale with its beautiful shops and local produce. Only 13 miles from Ingleton Waterfalls with White Scar Saves and Ingleborough just a bit further on. A few miles in the other direction there is the small village of Beetham with the infamous Fairy Steps walk and a lovely garden centre and cafe as well as Arnside and Silverdale AONB. There are plenty of wonderful pubs, bars and restaurants a short drive or taxi ride away. There are a number Golf courses situated a short distance away at Casterton, Kirkby Lonsdale and Kendal. Local Fisheries nearby accept day licences and watersports are able to be booked at nearby pine lake resort or Low wood bay water sports among others.
