Gellihaf House is a hidden gem in the historic valleys of South Wales. It was built in 1931 in the style of the 'Arts and Crafts' movement. Following an extensive two-year renovation and redecoration, the once-tired property was brought back to life with care and respect for its architectural heritage. Now set within beautifully maintained grounds and gardens, Gellihaf House stands as a shining example of what can be achieved through dedication, thoughtful design, and an appreciation for history. It's original features are intact, but modern amenities are in place to offer the guest all the comforts they need.
Catherine, has lived in Cardiff most of her life, but has a connection with the house that was discovered 6 months after moving in. It was discovered that her great great uncle, William Ebsworth lived at Gellihaf House in the 1920's!
The Rhymney Valley has undergone a transformation from a hugely industrial area to a beautiful place to discover. Take a walk in Parc Penallta for some spectacular views of the surrounding area. You'll be surprised what you find. The Winding House is a nod to the valleys' mining history. Llancaiach Fawr is not to be missed. An historic Tudor manor house, which holds spooky Ghost Tours each year. Caerphilly Castle is the 2nd largest castle in the UK. Time your visit to coincide with one of their medieval weekends. You wont regret it! And of course there is Cardiff, the capital of Wales. Its a short train ride from us, and has a huge amount to offer for everyone.
