Approached via a charming gangplank constructed from old boats, Zeldenrust is an energy autonomous vessel with 100% of the electricity coming from solar panels and a wind turbine. There is one double bedroom and one single, a shower/wet room, and kitchenette making this the perfect weekend getaway. Stunning views out to the Blackwater estuary with exceptionally sunsets and moonrises and only a few minutes walk to the beach. Built in 1903 in Holland, you can spot the scars of bullet holes from the two World Wars, this historic vessel has been beautifully converted to a live aboard with a boutique interior.
Zeldenrust has been our home for 15 years, but as we spend more time travelling abroad, we would love to share our home with you. It is a boat, so systems are a bit quirky and more hands on, as such, she is not really suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Minutes away from the beach where you can swim at any time of day thanks to the deep water channel. Pubs, restaurants and cafes all within a five minute walk. Boat trips from the harbour to the famous Radio Caroline, or catch the foot ferry in summer from the East of the island to Brightlingsea Town, or local bus into Colchester City for galleries, museums and shopping.
