This characterful 19th-century cottage is one of two semi-detached cottages built soon after the moors railway line was laid, which connects moorland villages and towns to the coast. Named Platelayers Cottages (after the original residents whose job was ‘plate-laying’ as they built the nearby train tracks), they still witness the heritage steam trains which pass by. These mighty locomotives are sure to delight as they make their way to the seafaring town of Whitby. The owners have taken care to ensure that you have an exceptional stay, with thoughtful touches such as a little tuck shop, where you can get treats to enjoy during your stay including sweets, drinks and disposable barbecues.
