Locanda offers coastal living in Britain at its best, we listen to what you would like and then deliver to you a beautiful experience and memories. There are walkable food offerings in the area for those simply wishing to soak up coastal vibes, all are welcome. Both owners are hands on at the property every day making sure everything offered is executed to the best standard. Having moved to Exmoor from London and also extensively travelled we understand from a guest perspective what is desirable and do our very best to deliver it. We made the decision to aim for zero waste particularly with food and therefore breakfasts are ordered the night before and start at 8am finishing by 9.30am in the restaurant. We are a dog friendly establishment with clean, adult , housetrained dogs welcome in all public rooms but excluding Santa Lucia and San francesco rooms. We look forward to welcoming you to Locanda.

Our location is truly unique — with sea, moorland and ancient woodland all just steps away — and the house itself reflects a personal, design-led aesthetic. Art, books, antiques and contemporary pieces all sit together in a thoughtfully curated, welcoming space. From 2026, we will be offering a relaxed selection of cocktails, wines and a cheese board for light bites, which may be enjoyed in the garden during warmer days or by the log fire in the cooler months. For dinner, there are several excellent dining options available in Porlock Weir, all within easy reach. Each of our bedrooms offers sea views and its own individual character, and we have four rooms available as standard. Our Santa Maria Suite is a very large double aspect suite with a bath tub as well as a walk in shower for those wanting a room with wow factor. We are a very dog-friendly establishment. House-trained, clean dogs are welcome throughout Locanda, except for San Francesco and Santa Lucia rooms which remain pet-free. Dogs absolutely love exploring the wilds of Exmoor, the beach and the woodland paths. In summer, the garden becomes a serene sanctuary exclusively for our guests — a place to breathe in the sea air, surrounded by flowers and views. In winter, Locanda transforms into a cosy retreat with a glowing log fire, quiet corners for reading, and gentle background music creating a restful atmosphere. Locanda is situated in the sleepy ancient harbour hamlet of Porlock Weir where Exmoor meets the sea on the fabled South West Coast Path. Surrounded by ancient woodland, wild moors, sea and picturesque quaint villages there is always a feast for the eyes no matter the season.
