The Old Orchard Studio is above our garage in the beautiful village of Froggatt in the Peak District. It has a separate entrance and has beautiful views across the rooftops of Froggatt and across the Derwent Valley. **It should be noted that the height of the ceiling is 6ft 6inches, just under 2 metres, throughout.** There is a private outside sitting space and many lovely walks straight from the door, along the Derwent River or up and along Froggatt Edge over the moors and many more.
My husband Kerry & I moved to the Peak District in December 2017, after having lovely family holidays here over many years. After spending a long time renovating the house, we opened 2 rooms for B&B in 2019 and this year, 2020, we've now got the self-catering studio. It was supposed to be an early retirement project, though the renovations were harder work than we imagined!
We'll be available for any queries or local information that you might need during your stay, but we'll respect your privacy otherwise.
Froggatt is a quiet village with one pub/restaurant, The Chequers, within easy walking distance. Around 25 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive away is the village of Calver which has a well stocked local shop for groceries, 3 pubs which all do good food, 2 coffee shops, a gift shop and post office.
There are many walks directly from the house but the village is not served by public transport. The nearest railway station is at Grindleford, on the Manchester to Sheffield line, which is around 2 miles away. There is a limited bus service from Calver.
