Olive Mae Guestroom provides a cosy double room for a work trip, short break or holiday in beautiful South Wales. Located in Oakdale, Blackwood, we are just 40 mins from Pen y Fan and the Brecon Beacons, 40 mins from Cardiff and very close to a wide range of beautiful walks and countryside. Sharing our private home, you'll be on the ground floor with a lockable bedroom and a private bathroom with luxury toiletry products, as well as a buffet breakfast of cereals and pastries. Decorated in Laura Ashley decor with Welsh themed artwork, we want you to sleep well and enjoy the ambience of the room. If you need to work, there is a convenient stand-up desk with a laptop stand and great wifi. Whilst you'll be in our home, you'll have complete privacy, but we'll always be here to help and answer any questions you may have about the area.

I'm Paula and I would like to welcome you to Olive Mae - a beautiful private home stay in the South Wales valleys. I work from home so am almost always around to answer questions, but you'll be able to come and go as you please.

Olive Mae is in a quiet residential neighborhood with private parking on our drive. There is a Morrisons Local just a 5 min walk away and the local town of Blackwood has a cinema and many cafes, pubs and restaurants for eating out. There are many other places to eat in the area, which I'll be happy to direct you to. Local Attractions and Things to do - Cwmcarn Forestry Drive - fantastic views and Mountain Bike services (10 mins away) - Maxime Cinema - 5 screen cinema in Blackwood (10 mins away) - Blackwood Miners Institute - Arts and culture venue (10 mins away) - Pen y Fan Country Park - Beautiful pond with paths and a cafe in the summer months (5 mins) - Tan y Rhew Contrast Therapy - Experience the hot and cold with beautiful views (12 mins) Further afield - Brecon Beacons - Pen y Fan and many other parks and walks (40 mins) - Cardiff and Newport - Local cities with lots of events and attractions both accessible by train - Laugharne - Home of Dylan Thomas for a beautiful day out in West Wales (1hr 40) - Mumbles and Gower - Beautiful beaches in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - (1hr 15) - Barry Island - Home of Gavin & Stacey - a good fun day out with beautiful sandy beach (50 mins) There are loads of parks, walks and beautiful countryside in the area, which I'll be happy to direct you to.
