If you sit in the window seat at the back you can look up over the old rooftops to the parish church, which started life not long after the Norman Conquest. Being positioned right in the heart of Bakewell makes for a very convenient stay. Everything is on the doorstep. We’ve combined antique and modern furniture along with imaginative art to make a fresh, engaging and relaxing environment. The kitchen is equipped with appliances, utensils and crockery and as this is a Duplex you will find a second bedroom via a short staircase. The duplex also has free secure Parking a short walk away which is a real bonus in this historical town. Old Beams is one of 3 apartments that I have in this Grade 2 listed building so please take a look at The Eaves and Cobblers Rest if you cannot find the availability in Old Beams. Guests will have access to all areas of the property and a free parking space a short walk away. Please note - there are 2 x sets of 15 internal steps up to the apartment and then a further 12 steps inside the property to access the upper floor & beds. Bakewell is a well-known town, not only for its tasty Bakewell Puddings, but for its shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as the renowned local farmers market. Situated within the Peak District National Park, Bakewell has something for everyone, from stately homes, such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall and Lyme Park to the rugged, dark and limestone White Peak, which are all close by. Impressive caverns, such as the Blue John Cavern in Castleton and Little John’s Grave in Hathersage, are not to be missed, along with a trip to Buxton to visit the famous Buxton Opera House, designed by the same designer as the London Palladium, or the newly refurbished Crescent with its shop and spa. For the thrill seekers Alton Towers is also accessible. This really is the ideal place to stay and enjoy all that this wonderful area has to offer! Shops, pubs and restaurants right on the doorstep.
